Everything changed when I crashed into a food truck. It all started with a brutal hill. An incline that I was determined to crest. One, long, punishing climb with my thighs screaming as I pumped the pedals for all I was worth. That hill could have been a metaphor for my whole life. I was climbing out of the crater left by a broken heart, ready to seize control again. Making it up that hill was a good first step. Then I hit the food truck.Enter Reese Riley, blond, gorgeous, stunning sapphire eyes and the kind of smile to set my blood on fire. No way he was real. With charm to spare, he walked me home and then asked me out. Then he introduced me to his friends-Briggs, Goran, and Dalton. Stunning men, all of them. Funny, too. They flirted, they teased, and they indulged. They were incredible, each of them, and they fit into my life like they'd been born to be there. I didn't know whether to celebrate or to run like hell.Oh, and did I mention they were aliens?*Please note this is a reverse harem and the authors suggest you always read the forwards in their books. This is the first in a trilogy.

The Racial Justice in America: Indigenous Peoples series explores the issues specific to the Indigenous communities in the United States in a comprehensive, honest, and age-appropriate way. This series was written by Indigenous historian and public scholar Heather Bruegl, a citizen of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and a first-line descendent Stockbridge Munsee. The series was developed to reach children of all races and encourage them to approach race, diversity, and inclusion with open eyes and minds.

Collaborative Writing in the Long Nineteenth Century

Collaborative Writing in the Long Nineteenth Century

Bringing the collaborative process to life through an array of examples, Heather Witcher shows that sympathetic co-creation is far more than the mere act of writing together. While foregrounding the material aspects of collaboration – hands uniting on the page, blank space left for fellow contributors, the writing and exchanging of drafts – this study also illuminates its social aspects and its reliance on Victorian liberalism: dialogue, the circulation of correspondence, the lived experience of collaboration, and, on a less material plane, transhistorical collaborations with figures of the past. Witcher takes a broad approach to these partnerships and, in doing so, challenges traditional expectations surrounding the nature of authorship itself, not least its typical classification as a solitary activity. Within this new framework, collaboration enables the titles of 'coauthor,' 'influencer,' 'editor,' 'critic,' and 'inspiration' to coexist. This book celebrates the plurality of collaboration and underscores the truly social nature of nineteenth-century writing.

After two traumatic miscarriages and the heartache that had followed, we apprehensively awaited a much longed for sibling for our young son and an end to the difficult and arduous pregnancy, that had left me covered in bruises, itching constantly and suffering from pre-eclampsia. Within weeks of Sean's birth he had suffered a brain haemorrhage and our baby, who had fought so hard to make it into the world, was struggling to stay alive. Our lives are turned upside down as, instead of welcoming our new addition, we are left accused of shaking him. In the legal battle of a lifetime we fight to keep both our children. Forced to move out of our home, interviewed by the police, threatened constantly with the removal of our children into care and misled at every turn, we realise to our horror; it could have been any child, it just happened to be ours.

Responding to major shifts in literary studies over the past thirty years, The Longman Anthology of British LIterature was the first collection to pay sustained attention to the contexts within which literature is produced, even as it broadened the scope of that literature to embrace the full cultural diversity of the British Isles. Within its pages, canonical authors mingle with newly visible writers; English accents are heard next to Anglo-Norman, Welsh, Gaelic, and Scottish ones; female and male voices are set in dialogue; literature from the British Isles is integrated with post-colonial writing; and major works are illumined by clusters of shorter texts that bring literary, social, and historical issues vividly to life. Volume 2B focuses on the literature of the Victorian Age.

The Longman Anthology of British Literature, Compact Edition is a concise and thoughtfully arranged survey of British literature for the one-semester course. The Second Edition builds on the pioneering features of its predecessor, retaining a strong core of frequently taught works while continuing to lead the way in responding to the shifting interests of the discipline.
