In this Ralph Compton western, a man has two targets: the one he's looking for and the one on his back... Bighorn Point appears to be a quiet town. But when a stranger comes looking for a murderer, it turns out that not all the respectable citizens are what they seem. Down-on-his-luck rancher Micajah "Cage" Clayton has been hired to track down and kill Lissome Terry--a man who years ago left a path of death, rape, and robbery in his wake. Though he doesn't know what Terry looks like, Clayton knows his target is in Bighorn Point living under an assumed name, so finding him shouldn't be too hard. But when Marshall Will Durant only gives Clayton a week to find his man in a town where everyone knows his deadly purpose, catching the crafty outlaw will be anything but easy... FIRST NEW BOOK IN FATE MAGAZINE'S "STRANGE" SERIES IN FOUR DECADES "My mother used to read me FATE. I was fascinated." -Stephen KingIn 1965 FATE released the first book in its bestselling "Strange" series, reprinting some of the publication's most acclaimed reports of paranormal phenomena. Over the next ten years, the "Strange" books sold over 6,000,000 copies worldwide. Each volume in the series was filled with personal accounts and researched reports drawn from FATE's pages, covering a wide array of unexplained phenomena: UFOs, hauntings, psychic experiences, reincarnation, magic, precognitive dreams, telepathy, and many more examples of the uncanny and inexplicable. When the series was reprinted in 2014, contemporary readers were as thrilled as they had been in the 1960s, describing them at online stores in glowing terms: "A book worth reading. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.""FATE always comes through.""Well written, short articles on a variety of paranormal events, many of which were unfamiliar to me. Interesting, unfamiliar and competently edited.""Good stuff. Reminds us that stories like this have been happening for years. Not just a modern invention. Worth a read.""Very good read. 5 stars."Encouraged by the success of these reprints, the editors of FATE decided the time was ripe for a brand new entry in the "Strange" series. Strange True Encounters & Unearthly Experiences is the first new book in the series in four decades, and features: *Robert M. Schoch, Ph.D. in Geology and Geophysics at Yale University, on discoveries at Anatolia's Gobekli Tepe which suggest that civilization is far older than previously believed;*Gregory Sams on unfolding evidence that stars may be conscious;*Janet Brennan on Europe's mysterious Black Madonna statues;*Martin Cadin, ex-member of the Federal Aviation Administration, on his own personal experiments using telekinesis;*Michio Kaku, Professor of Theoretical Physics at the City University of New York, on our ten-dimensional universe;*Journalist Chris Friar on 19th century UFO sightings proving they are not a modern phenomenon;*Actor Anthony Quinn on the "profound mystical experience" in the Sinai Desert that changed his life.Plus over a dozen other accounts, investigations and in-depth reports, together in a brand new "Strange" book every bit as entertaining and enlightening as its predecessors

To better understand the Latter Day Saint Movement, not merely one sect but the larger movement the Lord began with Joseph Smith Jr. and continued with his contemporaries, the men that both helped to begin and to encourage the movement forward, we must study out the core theologies of our faith from its infancy. This book has been created as a pocked guide of sorts for studying these theologies and doctrines. This small volume opens with what purports to be the oldest of all Latter Day Saint texts and scripture, the Book of the Law of the Lord. It should not be seen as definitive by any means, as God meets each of us where we are and identifies Himself/Herself/Themselves in a way that we can understand. That is to say that God meets us on our own level. It is our prayer that this book will endeavor to guide and teach Saints of all sects and denominations as we move ever forward towards oneness in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A poetic portrait of Joseph Smith's early life and career A quintessentially American saga, the life of Joseph Smith offers believers and non-believers alike an epic narrative that inhabits both grounded history and a heavenly sphere of action. Zachary McLeod Hutchins renders Smith's early life as a poetic narrative in two parts. The first introduces a very human Joseph and his youthful encounter with demonic powers seeking to prevent any communication with heaven. Following his First Vision, the teenaged prophet is charged by the angel Moroni to retrieve and translate a sacred record inscribed on gold plates. The second part picks up the story four years later, as Joseph marries Emma Hale and undertakes the plates' translation. Hutchins supplies a fictionalized excerpt from that translation, The Book of Lehi, and details Joseph's efforts to organize his growing band of followers, concluding on a note of contentment at odds with the tumultuous times to come in Smith's final years. An innovative perspective on Smith's early exploits, Joseph: An Epic reinterprets the origin story of a religious seeker and the faith he created.
