In April 2020, during the early days of the COVID pandemic lockdowns, photographer Mel D. Cole started driving around New York City documenting the streets. This almost therapeutic exercise became a call to action upon the murder of George Floyd, and Cole dedicated the rest of 2020 to photographing the Black Lives Matter protests that swept the country. In addition to canvassing the action in New York City, Cole traveled to cover protests in Washington, DC, and Richmond, Virginia. The body of work he has produced from that electrifying summer is a powerful outpouring of the hurt, outrage, and courage of people compelled to take action following the brutal death of George Floyd. Inspired by the black-and-white documentary tradition of the 1960s, Cole seeks to create what he calls “a collective memory” that continues the legacy of the civil rights movement. That historical through-line is a bitter reminder of the oppression and resistance that continues today. Cole has said, “Shooting the Black Lives Matter movement is the most important work of my entire life. It meant the world to me to document and do this service. This is what I have, this is what I can bring to the table, and it’s my eye, my platform to tell the stories.”

Born to be the center of attention, Mel Brooks grew up learning the ropes of entertainment in the Catskills during its biggest days. With Carl Reiner, he would create the 2000-Year-Old Man, and sold millions of comedy albums in the 1960s. He would cocreate the classic cult comedy television series Get Smart (1965-1970). His films – which he wrote, directed, and sometimes starred in – such as The Producers (1968), Blazing Saddles (1974), Young Frankenstein (1974), and Spaceballs (1987) –ÿhave become certified classics to generations of fans and continuing well into the 1990s. Na presente investiga o, a atividade antimicrobiana de tr s amostras diferentes de mel, nomeadamente o mel de Kombu, o mel de Malan e o mel comercial, foi avaliada contra bact rias patog nicas (Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa e Acetobacter baumani). As amostras de mel natural e comercial seleccionadas para o presente estudo foram recolhidas em Chetheri Malai, Harur, Tamil Nadu, ndia. O mel de Kombu, o mel de Malan e o mel comercial apresentaram uma zona de inibi o m xima contra Staphylococcus aureus. Em conclus o, o mel de Kombu apresentou uma maior atividade antimicrobiana contra agentes patog nicos bacterianos quando comparado com o mel de Malan e o mel comercial.

Like his fellow painters Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, Ramos adopts motifs from mass media and advertising. In the early 1960s he attracted attention with painted appropriations of comic book heroes such as Batman and Superman. In the mid-60s, he began to incorporate pin-ups into his paintings, which he juxtaposed comically and revealingly with American consumer products.
