For the past six months, rookie world mage Randall Flood has been hunting down and capturing anything that stinks of magic and stashing it within the pages of a spellbook named Chuck. But is there more to his breakneck missions than meets the eye? The talkative tome claims Randall's predecessor, Mitch, is to blame for magic's reappearance. The previous wizard had banished most anything magical and hoarded the remaining spells and mystic weapons for himself. Now, as magic resurfaces with greater frequency, Randall doubts the wisdom of capturing the arcane and socking it away in the spellbook. An encounter with an attractive and crafty witch through an enchanted dating app upends his wizardly purpose and sets him on a path to halt a magical disaster. Randall must decide whether to save the world using his tried-and-true spellbook or through another mystical avenue that is unusual and untested. Brian Clopper lends his trademark wit and talent for concocting clever magical mash-ups to a new fantasy novel that explores the archetype of sorcerer as earthly protector in a dynamic new light.

Warning This is an independent addition to What If, meant to enhance your experience of the original book. If you have not yet bought the original copy, make sure to purchase it before buying this unofficial summary from aBookaDay. ANALYSIS *The questions in these sections are some of the strangest the author has received. In response, the author provides a humorous cartoon to both answer and acknowledge the absurdity of these questions. These questions are not covered in the following summary as the responses are purely visual. OVERVIEW This review of What If: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions by Randall Munroe provides a chapter by chapter detailed summary followed by an analysis and critique of the strengths and weaknesses of the book. The main theme explored in the book is how we can use science as a way to answer some of life's strangest and most unanswerable questions. Using data gathered from various sources such as clinical studies, scientific journal articles, and interviews with top scientific and analytical minds, the author is able to a provide answers to his audience's most absurd questions. The central thesis of the work is that any question humans have ever had about the way the world works or possible ramifications if the world stopped working the way we expect it to can all be answered through scientific means. Munroe takes each question from his audience and thoroughly examines it-mostly reserving judgement-and attempts to find the best answer possible. In some cases, he provides several different answers, and in others even provides answers to questions that the audience did not ask, but are related to the subject at hand. What makes his responses unique is that he relies on humor (and cartoons) to explain even the most difficult concepts and this allows for his answers to be easily understood by all of his audience, even those with no scientific background. Randall Munroe is the writer and creator of the web comic xkcd and has written a previous book of the same title. He worked at NASA as a roboticist until October of 2006 when he became a professional web comic artist full time. What If? is the result of his popular web comic and a project inspired by it where he asked users to post absurd math and physics related questions. He currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The T. Randall Adams Sheep Ranching History encompasses four generations of the Adams Family, starting with William Adams Sr. who was one of the first pioneers to settle in Southern Utah in the mid nineteenth century. Most of the stories are told by the children of T. Randall Adams as they relate their activities and lifestyle, and those of their father as a sheep rancher. The activities and lifestyle are so very different from the vast majority of families living today in the Western United States.
The Life and Influence of the Rev. Benjamin Randall: Founder of the Free Baptist Denomination
The first Free Baptist church I ever saw soon became my religious home; and membership in the body of Christians that church represented has been continuous to the present time, during more than sixty years. Mine was a case of falling in love at first sight. But, like all properly placed affection, that love has deepened and strengthened with the passing years. While yet in the days of my youth, I began to investigate the conditions that were claimed in justification of our existence as a separate religious body. That interested me in the founder of this body, Benjamin Randall. As I studied the character, labors, and usefulness of this man, I was thrilled with an inexpressible admiration for him. I eagerly devoured all available printed literature about Mr. Randall and his times.--Frederick Wiley
