The only picture book biography of Dudley Randall—a poet, publisher, and leader of the Black Arts movement of the 1960s—from Ezra Jack Keats Award Winner Don Tate and Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award Honoree and New York Times bestselling illustrator Laura Freeman Dudley Randall’s first published poem appeared in the Detroit Free Press when he was only 13 years old. He continued to write, and as he grew older, he realized that his voice could be powerful. When calls for equal rights were growing louder during the civil rights movement, Randall wrote the “Ballad of Birmingham” in response to an incident of senseless violence against a Black community in Alabama—and suddenly, the world was paying attention to his words. But Randall knew that most publishing companies were ignoring Black writers. In 1965, he founded the groundbreaking Broadside Press to give a platform to Black creatives like Audre Lorde, Gwendolyn Brooks, Nikki Giovanni, and Sonia Sanchez, as well as his own work. Randall and his fellow writers used their literary voices to express pride in Black history and culture. From award-winning author Don Tate and Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award Honoree Laura Freeman comes a picture book biography of Dudley Randall—a poet, publisher, and leader of the Black Arts Movement. Integrated throughout the story as well as the back matter, Randall’s most famous poems help bring the story alive. Back matter also includes more information about the famous figures and historical movements discussed in the narrative. Included Randall poems: “Ballad of Birmingham” “On Getting a Natural (For Gwendolyn Brooks)” “Twilight” “Booker T. and W.E.B.” “Langston Blues”
A Shameless Attempt at Convincing Randall Munroe to put Neptune Beach, Florida on his Book Tour: A tale of Necromancers and Skydiving

This is the really exciting and true story of adventure, necromancy, skydiving, and the afterdeath and how it all relates to why Randall Munroe, creator of XKCD, should visit Neptune Beach, Florida on his book tour. It follows the lives of Randall and his friend Cameroon, as well as Dr. Necromancer and Professor Barnacle. It is action-packed with I think two fight scenes and is definitely not complete drivel.

Life is peaceful in the little town of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and that suits Randall Oliver just fine. Within weeks, Randall finds himself neck-deep in a quagmire of environmental politics. His opponents, including his own brother James, are more than willing to use dirty pool and strong-arm tactics in an attempt to halt the drilling in the Yellow Dog Prospect near Bogalusa. It's nothing Randall hasn't encountered before, so he forges on in the face of both negative political ads and physical threats. He's made a promise to Buck, and refuses to bow down to the bullying of their adversaries...though his resolve is seriously tested when eco-terrorists strike the project, and his fianc e, Deena, is attacked by armed gunmen.Driven by a relentless determination to protect Deena and complete this final project for his dying friend, Randall pushes onward through a morass of political cupidity, family crises, and repeated attacks to pick apart the tangled threads of a conspiracy seemingly designed to destroy everything he loves. Bring On the Magic (An Adventure With Randall Flood)

For the past six months, rookie world mage Randall Flood has been hunting down and capturing anything that stinks of magic and stashing it within the pages of a spellbook named Chuck. But is there more to his breakneck missions than meets the eye? The talkative tome claims Randall's predecessor, Mitch, is to blame for magic's reappearance. The previous wizard had banished most anything magical and hoarded the remaining spells and mystic weapons for himself. Now, as magic resurfaces with greater frequency, Randall doubts the wisdom of capturing the arcane and socking it away in the spellbook. An encounter with an attractive and crafty witch through an enchanted dating app upends his wizardly purpose and sets him on a path to halt a magical disaster. Randall must decide whether to save the world using his tried-and-true spellbook or through another mystical avenue that is unusual and untested. Brian Clopper lends his trademark wit and talent for concocting clever magical mash-ups to a new fantasy novel that explores the archetype of sorcerer as earthly protector in a dynamic new light.
