A Western romance readers can't put down.If you enjoy engaging characters, heart-wrenching twists and turns, and fast-paced action, then you will love this novel. As the eldest member of the Yancey clan's second generation, Rob has graduated from Columbia University in New York and returned to his family's San Francisco homestead. There, after a party celebrated by everyone within hollering distance and short breathing space, he joins Yancey Holdings as a consultant. The position has not just been handed over. Since boyhood, Rob has worked his way up in the hotel chain, learning the business and handling more and more responsibility. Now he is ready for the big time: wading through the corporate books to discover why four of their luxurious, once-grand hotels are now in such sorry shape, from the basement to roof. His family is at risk of losing both money and reputation, thanks to the double-dealing of someone at work behind the scenes.Rob's first order of business is to find the identity of that someone, bring him to justice, and turn around the Holdings' slow decline. It seems the dream job, traveling from San Francisco to San Jose, with the certainty of future trips to Sacramento, San Juan Capistrano, and more. Since he, too, like his uncles before him, has vowed that marriage is out of the picture, he will be able to devote all his time and energy to attaining his professional goals.Easy enough. Until Fiona Brennan steps into his life. Her goal matches his: she doesn't want to get married, either. Especially not to him.Ferreting out the corporate embezzler, while trying to deal with a prickly young lady who'd prefer not to be seen in his company, means sending out an SOS for assistance. In this case, his mother.♥♥♥For a page-turning Western romance you DEFINITELY can't put down, read this book today.♥♥♥

Rob Roy (1817) is a historical novel by Walter Scott, one of the Waverley novels. It is probably set in 1715, the year of the first Jacobite uprising, and the social and economic background to that event are an important element in the novel, though it is not treated directly. The depiction of Rob Roy bears little relation to the historical figure: 'there are two Rob Roys. One lived and breathed. The other is a good story, a lively tale set in the past. Both may be accepted as "valid", but they serve different needs and interests.'Frank Osbaldistone narrates the story. He is the son of an English merchant who parted from his family home in the north of England near the border with Scotland when he was a young man, being of different religion and temperament than his own father or his younger brother. Frank is sent by his father to live at the long unseen family home with his uncle and his male cousins, when he refuses to join his father's successful business. In exchange, his father accepts Frank's cousin Rashleigh to work in his business. Rashleigh is an intelligent young man, but he is unscrupulous, and he causes problems for the business of Osbaldistone and Tresham. To resolve the problems, Frank travels into Scotland and meets the larger-than-life title character, Rob Roy MacGregor. (wikipedia.org)

The Sheboygan River is one of Wisconsin's largest watersheds. A major component of that watershed is the Sheboygan Marsh through which the Sheboygan River flows. Rob the raccoon acquaints the reader with some of the plants and animals that live in this marsh. A marsh is one of several types of wetlands. After being introduced to the reader, these wetland friends reveal their interdependency on one another. The story is very informative, revealing interesting facts about the lives of Rob's friends. Finally, Rob introduces the reader to a friend that is the most influential to the marsh ecosystem, you, the reader. The only thing in nature that is constant is change. Rob explains how our society can significantly influence the changes that will occur as the marsh evolves into a grassy meadow.Rob ends the story by telling how Ducks Unlimited and other agencies are constantly striving to conserve and restore wetlands. Those same wetlands are not only important to the survival of the residents of the wetland but also play an important role in man's survival.

Sir Walter was at his best as a story teller when portraying the life of some adventurous hero of his own highlands. Through this stirring novel he has immortalized the wandering patriot and the beautiful lake beside which he made his home. The young person who thinks that Scott is hard reading will not go far in this book before he loses himself in the narrative and finds himself sitting up nights to finish it. With Introductory Essay and Notes by Andrew Lang...We are happy to announce this classic book. Many of the books in our collection have not been published for decades and are therefore not broadly available to the readers. "Rob Roy" is set in 1715-16, yet it concerns not the conduct of the Jacobite Rising, but the economic and social conditions which gave rise to it. It celebrates the freebooting capitalism of the hero's father in the City of London, and the actual freebooting of Rob Roy, the "Robin Hood of Scotland, the dread of the wealthy, but the friend of the poor". And through Baillie Nicol Jarvie, one of Scott's most lively creations, it explores the delicate balance of generosity and selfish calculation that is required in all successful enterprise.
