How many times have you told someone who was having a particularly hard time, "God is with you?" Or how many times has someone chided you with, "Don't worry. God is with you?" For me personally, I have heard others use these words so much and I can honestly say I have advised others of this very same thing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with encouraging someone with these four words, but I have I sensed that I needed to do a self-check and be honest about how much do I really believe these words and/or do I act like "God is with me," when the road gets rough and the going gets even tougher? When I recalled instances of giving words of comfort to someone in their time of need, I discovered that yes, these words hold true for me, when I am going through. Thus, I found myself wanting to mean what I say and say what I mean with confidence and assurance so I embarked on a journey of discovering what God's Word says with regard to the Lord being with His people all the time which led to the writing of this book. As with so many other popular sayings and/or clich s in the church, "God is with you," may be to some, an old clich . This book will help to strengthen your belief that indeed, "God is with you," always. Reading this book will remind you that it is not just an old clich . You will know without a doubt and be more convinced than ever that God is with you: -So you don't have to feel alone or abandoned. -When you find yourself in a scary or frightening situation. -In the disappointing moments. -When your heart is broken. -To keep you from falling. Years have been complicated as a young adult with many tears from the constant heart wrenching truth of life. I created a collection of poems that described just how hard and painful those years were in explicit detail. It is now time to share this collection of poems. For this collection I continue the journey into adulthood. A lot of lessons were learned, and some events were repeated. All in all these poems are the next step of my life while finishing up my perspective toward things happening in my twenties.
The youngest get the short end of the stick when situations appear. Many times the youngest are seen as a nuisance that no one wants to hear from because it is often thought, "They don't know anything about the outside world." (That is what I perceived as a young child.) Little does everyone know that the youngest (such as myself) know more than what they get credit for by just knowing information. There are narratives that have been spread from those closest to me, even before I can remember. Those points of view only produce parts of what I think or feel. It has been years listening and closing my mouth, even if it seemed like I had no problem stating my opinions. I am ready to say, "Enough is enough." Now is the time for myself to state the narrative that I have been longing to say without any interruptions. Are you able to handle my narrative?
