An analysis of Hallet's Complex Competence Task on the topic "How to write a convincing speech"
Seminar paper from the year 2020 in the subject Didactics - English - Pedagogy, Literature Studies, grade: 1,7, Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald (Fachdidaktik Englisch), course: Life-World-Relevances: Planning lessons for various learners, language: English, abstract: My hypothesis is assuming whether the Complex Competence Task (from hereon CCT) by Wolfgang Hallet (2012) can cover all essential aspects and reduce the expense of planning a lesson for various learners in a heterogeneity classroom. At first, I want to analyze and briefly describe the lifeworld aspect I want to cover. Moreover, I will explain my chosen planning instrument, the CCT, and expound its purpose. Additionally, I will pose my hypothesis and finally lead over to the practical part of my paper. The plan mentioned above covers the theoretical part of the term paper. The second part will include the entire practical work of planning my lesson with the instrument and step-by-step explanations for the procedure of this lesson. Furthermore, the whole unit will be described with the main and subgoals, topics and subtopics, activities, and tasks for the students. For a qualitative lesson, I will also include examples of products to emphasize my expectations and give an insight of how the lesson might be. Finally comes the conclusion, therefore the reflective part of my paper, where I briefly sum up what I did in the paper. Further, I try to reflect my hypothesis and the usage of the Complex Competence Task. The final steps will be criticizing the planning instrument in a constructive way and giving examples of improvements for this instrument.

Command hallucinations are a particularly distressing and sometimes dangerous type of hallucination about which relatively little is known and for which no evidenced based treatment currently exists. In A Casebook of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Command Hallucinations the development of a new and innovative evidence based cognitive therapy is presented in a practical format ideal for the busy practitioner. This new approach is based on over a decade's research on the role of voice hearers' beliefs about the power and omnipotence of their voices and how this drives distress and 'acting on' voices. The therapy protocol is presented in clear steps from formulation to intervention. The body of the book describes its application in eight cases illustrating the breadth of its application, including 'complex' cases. The authors also present their interpretation of what their findings tell us about what works and doesn't work, and suggestions for future developments. Subjects covered also include: understanding command hallucinations a cognitive versus a quasi-neuroleptic approach to CBT in psychosis does CBT for CH work? findings from a randomised controlled trial. This book provides a fascinating and very practical summary of the first intervention to have a major impact on distress and on compliance with command hallucinations. It will be of great interest to all mental health practitioners working with people with psychosis in community and forensic settings.

Is This Really My Life?: Life is a trip with or without hallucinogenics. Discover meaning and purpose as you take the ride.
Corporate executive and entrepreneur Sarah Wilcox humorously describes her journey from early adulting through mommyhood, and the many career and life transitions that almost pushed her over the edge in her new book, Is This Really My Life?As women, we're constantly trying to juggle our evolving roles and the stress that comes with them. Labels such as mother, wife, employee, entrepreneur, and breadwinner (to name a few) all bring an onslaught of stress and increased responsibility to our lives. The question that keeps coming up is: how can I manage it all and remember who I really am? So many of us lose "me" as we try for perfection or, at the very least, sanity. Is This Really My Life? sets the reader on a quest for how to be your best and do your best. Each essay tells a tale from Sarah's personal experiences and serves as a guidepost for thinking through what you may have lost along the way, how to stay the course even in choppy waters, and why embracing who you really are and what you want this life to be about is the surest way to design a thoroughly fulfilling life.
