Introduction: Peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is the erosion in lining of stomach or duodenum. Predominantly caused by Helicobacter pylori infection in about 50% of the world's population.which can colonize in the gastric antrum of all patients producing an extensive, noninvasive inflammatory reaction in the gastric mucosa. Methods: Fortey patients newly diagnosed endoscopically with peptic ulcer disease to be allocated into group 1 treated with standard H. pylori eradication triple therapy, and group 2 patients treated with curcumin (500 mg) capsules three times daily for 14 days as an adjuvant to standard triple therapy. Results: The result showed that the use of curcumin as adjuvant therapy produced highly significant improvement in healing efficacy which was significantly distinguished in duodenal ulcer patients compared to gastric ulcer groups 2 patients (p

The austenitic stainless steel alloys series 300 are widely used in different industries (such as; medical, chemical, oil field, etc), due to many mechanical and chemical properties especially their excellent corrosion resistance even at elevated temperature or cryogenic. In this search, the aggressiveness of the halide anions, namely; Cl-, Br-, F- and I- on SS alloys 304, 304L, 316, and 316L alloys were investigated using cyclic polarization techniques. The effect of halide concentration in the range of 0.5 to 3.5 % was also studied at four different temperatures (20, 30, 40, and 50 C) at each concentration. The results showed that the Cl- and Br- solutions have an aggressive effect at all concentrations and in general, the susceptibility to pitting corrosion increases with increasing the concentration and temperature. It was also noticed that the aggressiveness of Br anion is less than Cl anions which may be attributed to the size of the ions as Cl- 1.81 A

The study of blood by spectroscopic techniques and CR-39 detector can be used not only to understand the biological nature of the disease, but also to diagnose lung cancer. In the current work, atomic absorption technology is used to study differences in concentration in trace elements (Cu, Zn, Fe and Ni) between serum of health human and patients of lung cancer.Lung cancer is one of the most common leading causes of cancer mortality around the world. Many efforts have been made recently to use element contents in human body to aid for diagnosing various diseases including cancer. Accordingly, this study aimed to investigate the serum contents of elements Cu, Ni, Zn, and Fe of lung cancer patients and compared them with those found with controls using atomic absorption spectrophotometry technique. The results obtained showed there was a Statistical significance of zinc where, (p0.005).In addition, it was found out that the Cu/Zn ratio was no significantly higher in patients than those of controls.

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women. In this thesis we employ fourth techniques for diagnosing the breast cancer early; Uv-visible spectroscopy, Fourier Transform InfraRed (FTIR-ATR) technique, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) and Solid-State Nuclear Track detectors (SSNTDs) (CR-39NTD: Uv-visible spectroscopy technique: we have found fourth types of bands in the spectra of this technique for female of breast cancer, female who take chemotherapy and healthy (controls). First, second and third band regions cover the ultraviolet behavior of proteins but fourth band does not show absorbance of proteins, we noted appeared and disappeared some bands also increased the absorbance in patients which are represented an evidence for diagnosing breast cancer
