This Sojourner Student Workbook was prepared for students of all ages who want to learn more about the Bible and grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord, Jesus, the Christ. This Student Workbook contains 52 weekly Bible study lessons, and it begins in Genesis, the first book in the Bible, and ends in Revelation, the last book in the Bible. Although the workbook can be used independently by any student, it is designed to be used as part of a group Bible study with a Sojourner Leader (i.e., a teacher) who is using the Sojourner Leader's Guide. When used as part of a group study with a Sojourner Leader, students will gain additional insights as they discuss each of the lessons with fellow students and the group leader. The God of all creation has revealed Himself to us through Christ and His Word. As you begin this Bible study, ask God to give you wisdom to understand and love His Word-and to begin in you a journey of a lifetime as a wholly devoted disciple of Jesus, the Christ. "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation." -1 Peter 2:2 niv
The study of God's Word truly is the journey of a lifetime. This Sojourner Leader's Guide is a comprehensive guide through the fifty-two-lesson Sojourner Bible Study that begins in Genesis-the beginning-and finishes in Revelation. Each lesson covers essential biblical truths and connects them to our Savior, Jesus, the Christ. In this Leader's Guide, each student lesson is presented along with essential truths and learning points for the leader to convey. The lessons are designed to be covered weekly so that the entire study can be completed in one year. Although several teaching points are highlighted for each lesson, we encourage each leader to seek and heed the Holy Spirit's guidance as they prepare and present each lesson. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you lead others through this journey of a lifetime and to cultivate a desire in each student's heart to dig deeper into God's Word "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation." -1 Peter 2:2 niv

This makes the book very relatable, even to those who may not be typical sci fi fans.As the story combines eco consciousness with entertainment, it takes readers to an exciting fictional world whilst also keeping them grounded in reality and conscious of its challenges. The current push for awareness on environmental pollution and its consequences on Earth make the book especially relevant today.Synopsis of Sojourner by Marguerite Antonio: "Etroygylus is honoured, and somewhat nervous, to be the youngest captain of the four landing parties that the Intergalactic Council dispatched to planet Earth. Their mission is to surreptitiously study and report on the severity of pollution on the planet, and to assess the degree to which humans are addressing the problem. Although he has been well trained, and well versed in the history of Earth's people, he can only hope that his true identity remains hidden behind his alias, "Troy", and that he can safely pilot the landing craft, and lead his crew to successfully complete their mission. He knows they will face challenges and danger, and could meet with hostility and suspicion, but he trusts their sojourn on planet Earth will be informative and hopefully rewarding."

Infused with Jan Shipps's lively curiosity, scholarly rigor, and contagious fascination with a significant subculture, Sojourner in the Promised Land presents a distinctive parallel history in which Shipps surrounds her professional writings about the Latter-day Saints with an ongoing personal description of her encounters with them. By combining a portrait of the dynamic evolution of contemporary Mormonism with absorbing intellectual autobiography, Shipps illuminates the Mormons and at the same time shares with the reader what it has been like to be on the outside of a culture that remains both familiar and strange.
Sojourners are people who venture far from home to live in a foreign place and culture. They have amazing adventures and experience significant fulfillment, but along with the adventure and fulfillment comes a unique set of stressors, losses, and struggles: struggles in understanding a different culture, a new language, a new identity and in figuring out how to balance many demands with legitimate personal needs. Fatigue is a frequent and understandable result. This workbook is designed to help the new sojourner, or an experienced one, to develop personal skills for managing the stress, mourning the losses, and crafting a lifestyle that leads to sojourner health on every level.Throughout each chapter, psychologically based coping skills are integrated with Scriptural truth and spiritual disciplines to provide a foundation for healthy cross-cultural living and effective relationships that last for the long term.
