A place where the line between dimensions is blurred. An ancient force, older than time itself, plots to take the world for its own, and a number of special children are born with the potential for great evil, or great heroism.People are vanishing, and mysterious disasters are occurring throughout the region. In the midst of this, Adam Blackwell and his friends stumble across the rift and find these mysterious beasts which they dub "Shades" strange non-substantial beings of the deepest black, they give the feeling as if nothing is there. Like a void. They find these creatures and set in motion a catastrophic series of events that will span across three volumes and change the world forever. All the while, a strange young woman haunts Adam's dreams, and he must find what she has to do with these events before it is too late.
