Ancestors of Hayley Allison Ramsey
The ancestors of Hayley Allison Ramsey reach back as far as human history is recorded. Her ancestors include Attila the Hun, the Irish Kings, Bathsheba (consort of Solomon) Robert De Brus and can even be traced through the Middle East countries of Iraq and Iran to Adam, the first man. It extends from the earliest colonists on America's Eastern Coast who arrived on the ship Anne to Plymouth Colony, who came for religious reasons but came from some of the most revered landed and royal families of England and Scotland. Her colonial ancestors, the Warren family, were essential to the growth of America and her ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Civil War. In Scotland, her ancestors include William Ramsay, Lord of Dalhousie, Robert de Brus, 5th Lord of Annadale and others. Several served with the Templar Knights and a couple died in Jerusalem during the Crusades. It goes through Iran and Iraq and extends back to Methusaleh, and to Adam and Eve. Because much of the research was done by Arab researchers, many of the names are written in the old Arabic style. Attila the Hun's lineage also extends back to the Chinese dynasties and names are written in Chinese characters. Enjoy the journey as you enjoy browsing this book. There is still so much to be done, but this will guide you to filling in those gaps. Front Photo: Attila the Hun. ISBN: 781300 741343 Copyright 2024 All rights reserved

A lone kayaker found her, lying as if asleep on the steep, muddy bank of Kholo Creek, where it adjoins the Brisbane River; her body and the river swollen from the torrential Queensland April rains. This is the story of the trial, interwoven with the forensic numerological profile of the three people involved in the love triangle: Allison, former local beauty queen and mother of three young girls, her husband Gerard and his lover Toni McHugh. This real life crime was committed in Brisbane, Australia in 2012. In July, 2014, Gerard Robert Baden-Clay, great-grandson of Scouting pioneer Lord Robert Baden-Powell, was given a life sentence of 25 years with the non-parole period set at 15 years. He is currently serving out that sentence at the Wolston Park Correctional Centre at Wacol, just kilometres away from where the murder was committed at Brookfield and Allison's body dumped. It is also only kilometres away from the town of Redbank, where his lovely bride, a country girl, grew up.BLACK AND WHITE INTERIOR

Since the publication of her groundbreaking novel, Bastard out of Carolina, Dorothy Allison (b. 1949) has been known—as with Larry Brown and Lee Smith—as a purveyor of the working-class, contemporary South. Allison has frequently used her position, through passionate lectures and enthusiastic interviews, to give voice to issues dear to her: poverty, working-class life, domestic violence, feminism and women’s relationships, the contemporary South, and gay/lesbian life. Often called a "writer-rock star" and a "cult icon," Allison is a true performer of the written word. At the same time, Allison also takes the craft of writing very seriously. In this collection, spanning almost two decades, Allison the performer and Allison the careful craftsperson both emerge, creating a portrait of a complex woman. In the absence of a biography of Allison’s life, Conversations with Dorothy Allison presents Allison’s perspectives on her life, literature, and her conflicted role as a public figure.

Since the publication of her groundbreaking novel, Bastard Out of Carolina (1992), Dorothy Allison (b. 1949) has been known--as with Larry Brown and Lee Smith--as a purveyor of the ""gritty"" contemporary South that, in many ways, is worlds away from prevailing ""Southern Gothic"" representations of the region. Allison has frequently used her position, through passionate lectures and enthusiastic interviews, to give voice to issues dear to her: poverty, working-class life, domestic violence, feminism and women's relationships, the contemporary South, and gay/lesbian life. Often called a ""writer-rock star"" and a ""cult icon,"" Allison is a true performer of the written word. At the same time, Allison also takes the craft of writing very seriously. In this collection, spanning almost two decades, Allison the performer and Allison the careful craftsperson both emerge, creating a portrait of a complex woman. The interviews detail Allison's working-class background in Greenville, South Carolina, as the daughter of a waitress. Allison discusses--with candor and quick wit--her upbringing, her work in a variety of modes (novels, short stories, essays, poetry), and her active participation in the women's movement of the 1970s. In the absence of a biography of Allison's life, Conversations with Dorothy Allison presents Allison's perspectives on her life, literature, and her conflictions over her role as a public figure. Linking her work with African American writers such as Zora Neale Hurston and Toni Morrison, Allison pioneered the genre of working-class literature, writing a world that is often overlooked and under-studied.
