When you've got nothing to lose, do you lose it? When you lose everything, is it the end of the world, or does it just feel like it? In recent times, we've become all too aware of what can happen when disaffection becomes suicidal, and murderous, intent. Four hundred years ago, in England, a group of desperate young men dedicated themselves not only to mass murder but the total elimination of the government and departments of state. 'Guy Fawkes - 5/11 Treason' recreates why the author thinks the conspirators planned what they planned, blending fact and fiction in a tense, intrigue-filled novel. We do things because we think or believe something; action is preceded by thinking, however crazy, impulsive or chaotic that thinking might be. The Gunpowder Plot resulted from what some people thought or believed. So,it was a war that was won, or lost, in the mind first of all. And it is the mind, of course, where the decisive battle is fought.

"I've got to say I really liked this book. It had me hooked from the first page, even the fact I had a wedding while reading it didn't stop me. I loved the characters and felt they were well thought out as well as the plot. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys fast paced, adventure books with a good plot, while experiencing a few twists and turns!" Good Reads Excerpt 'I had a nightmare mum, I dreamt I was alone, it was dark, and I was so very afraid...I don't want to go.' 'A dream Teo, really? You are their future King. No you will have your security - you must go.' How many times does a mother regret the last words she said to a lost son? A prince is kidnapped, a militant gang has taken him, the kingdom is under threat from the empire, from their shape-shifting telepathic alien neighbors, from the ambitions of their own politicians. Can Sayginn, widow and lonely Queen survive? Will she ever see her only son again?
Guy Fawkes or A Complete History of the Gunpowder Treason
The Gunpowder Plot of 1605, was a failed assassination attempt against King James I of England and VI of Scotland by a group of provincial English Catholics led by Robert Catesby. The plan was to blow up the House of Lords during the State Opening of England's Parliament on 5 November 1605, as the prelude to a popular revolt in the Midlands during which James's nine-year-old daughter, Princess Elizabeth, was to be installed as the Catholic head of state. The plot was revealed to the authorities in an anonymous letter. During a search of the House of Lords at about midnight on 4 November 1605, Fawkes was discovered guarding 36 barrels of gunpowder and arrested. At the trial of the conspirators on 27 January 1606, eight of the survivors, including Fawkes, were convicted and sentenced to be hanged, drawn and quartered.
The Works of Guy de Maupassant Volume V
Henri Rene Albert Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893) was a popular 19th-century French writer. He is one of the fathers of the modern short story. As a protege of Flaubert, his short stories are characterized by their economy of style and their efficient effortless denouement. In 1880 he published his first masterpiece, Boule de Suif, which Flaubert characterized as "a masterpiece that will endure. " This was Maupassant's first piece of short fiction and was followed by short stories such as Deux Amis (1882) and Mademoiselle Fifi (1882). He also wrote six short novels. A number of his stories often denote the futility of war and the innocent civilians who, caught, emerge changed - many are set during the Franco-Prussian War of the 1870s. In his novels, he concentrated all his observations scattered in his short stories. His second novel was Bel- Ami; or, The History of a Scoundrel, which came out in 1885. His other works include: La Maison Tellier (1881), Une Vie (1883), Miss Harriet (1884), Mont-Oriol (1887), Pierre et Jean (1888), Fort Comme la Mort (1889) and Notre Coeur (1890).

"schah "" exclaimed old Roland suddenly, after he had remained motionless for a quarter of an hour, his eyes fixed on the water, while now and again he very slightly lifted his line sunk in the sea. Madame Roland, dozing in the stern by the side of Madame Ros milly, who had been invited to join the fishing-party, woke up, and turning her head to look at her husband, said: ""Well, well G rome."" And the old fellow replied in a fury: ""They do not bite at all. I have taken nothing since noon. Only men should ever go fishing. Women always delay the start till it is too late."""
