Die weltweite Weizenproduktion wird f r 2005-2006 auf 605,9 Millionen Tonnen auf 216,6 Millionen Hektar gesch tzt, was einem Anteil von 11,4% entspricht. Schwefel ist f r die Synthese von Proteinen, Vitaminen und schwefelhaltigen essentiellen Aminos uren unerl sslich und steht auch in Verbindung mit dem Stickstoffmetabolismus. Schwefel verbessert sowohl den Ertrag als auch die Qualit t von Kulturpflanzen. Der Schwefelmangel im Boden nimmt mit der Intensivierung der Landwirtschaft zu. Die auf D ngemittel reagierenden Sorten haben die Ersch pfung des Schwefelgehalts im Boden beschleunigt, auch in geringerer Bodentiefe. Der kontinuierliche Einsatz von schwefelfreien D ngemitteln hat zu einem weit verbreiteten Schwefelmangel in den indischen B den gef hrt und wirkt sich besonders positiv auf leicht strukturierte B den mit wenig organischer Substanz aus. Es liegen nur wenige Informationen ber die Auswirkungen von Schwefel auf den Ertrag, die Qualit t und die N hrstoffaufnahme von Weizenpflanzen vor. In Anbetracht dieser Tatsachen wurde die vorliegende Untersuchung durchgef hrt, um die Auswirkungen des Schwefelgehalts auf die physikalisch-chemischen Eigenschaften des Bodens und die Leistung von Weizen (Triticum aestivum L.) zu untersuchen.

O uso cont nuo de fertilizantes sem enxofre resultou numa defici ncia generalizada de enxofre nos solos indianos e tornou-se mais ben fico em solos de textura leve e com baixo teor de mat ria org nica. La produzione mondiale totale di grano stimata in 605,9 milioni di tonnellate da 216,6 milioni di ettari nel 2005-2006, con un contributo dell'11,4%. Lo zolfo essenziale per la sintesi di proteine, vitamine e aminoacidi essenziali contenenti zolfo ed anche associato al metabolismo dell'azoto. Lo zolfo migliora la resa e la qualit delle colture. La carenza di zolfo nel suolo aumenta con l'intensificazione dell'agricoltura. Le variet reattive dei fertilizzanti hanno accelerato l'esaurimento degli aumenti di zolfo nel suolo, anche a partire da profondit inferiori. L'uso continuo di fertilizzanti privi di zolfo ha portato a un'ampia diffusione della carenza di zolfo nei terreni indiani, che diventa pi vantaggiosa nei terreni a tessitura leggera e a basso contenuto di materia organica. Le informazioni sull'effetto dello zolfo sulla resa, sulla qualit e sull'assorbimento dei nutrienti nelle colture di grano sono limitate. Tenendo conto di questi fatti, la presente indagine stata condotta per studiare l'effetto dei livelli di zolfo sulle propriet fisico-chimiche del suolo e sul rendimento del grano (Triticum aestivum L.).
