As an online ESL Teacher who teaches in China, I found that my book was loved by my students. Thus I created a bilingual edition that makes this book an ideal teaching and reference book for both Chinese (Simplified Chinese) and English, early readers. In addition, a link is provided where the student can listen to the author read the book. As for the story, it's a fun, funny, and heartwarming story about the importance of friendship, determination, and the ultimate power of acceptance. This remarkable book follows the antics of two best friends, Max, and Nicky who do what they do best: Nicky the Red ball loves to Bounce Max the big dog loves to Pounce All is well until Nicky goes missing Max does everything in his power to find his favorite toy and best friend. He looks everywhere until finally, he sees him up in a tree Why won't Nicky come down? Max begged his friend, "Come down let's play I don't want to wait for one more day." This is the crux of the story. What will happen next? How will the characters react to their new situations? In the end, we see what True Friendship is This sweet, picture book, written in verse, is full of emotion and builds on the camaraderie of Winnie the Pooh. Your child will see the gamut of emotions such as "Sadness," "Joy," "Fear," "Courage," and "Happiness " It shows us that no matter what happens in life, we can face any challenge as long as we do it together. Kids will fall in love with both characters as each overcomes their challenges in this inspiring book. A glossary of the "Big Words" is included which also benefits the learning aspect. This book was translated by a Chinese resident (Ningning LV), who is a graduate of the prestigious, Durham University in the United Kingdom. Her translations were then edited by an additional Chinese native-speaking editor who is currently living and working in the U.S.

Aren't You Gonna Die Someday? explores the deceptions and veiled truths lurking within a film that has haunted author Patrick Cooper for nearly a decade: Elaine May's Mikey and Nicky. Called both a "masterpiece" and a "celluloid death wish" upon its release in 1976, Mikey and Nicky is an astonishingly dark work in the oeuvre of legendary comedienne-filmmaker Elaine May. This book examines May's tragic film scene-by-scene, digging up the titular friends' long-buried truths in an attempt to get at the heart of their lies.Along the way, Cooper offers behind the scenes insight and anecdotes, gathered from interviews and research, as well as never before seen set photos. Weaved together with this detailed look at the film are autobiographical threads in which Cooper uses Mikey and Nicky as a lens to examine toxic friendships from his own past. A tapestry of film history, reconstruction, and personal reflection, Aren't You Gonna Die Someday? is an unexpected look at a wholly unique American film.

We had been there for over 12 hours. The man was still 30 feet up a tree, balancing on a branch directly over one of the main railway lines out of one of the busiest train stations in the country. He refused to talk to us, threatening to jump if we came too close. To him, we were the enemy. My job was to preserve his life.
Prepare to lick the toenails of adventure! Betty Steady’s faster than an angry goose and stronger than an ogre in yoga pants and she DON’T NEED NO STINKING HELP FROM NO ONE! But can she prevent the Toad Witch from attacking Wobbly Rock? The funniest young fiction debut of 2024, for readers of Mr Gum and Grimwood! At twelve years old Betty Steady stands tall and dazzling, and is the Guardian of Wobbly Rock – a faraway kingdom which she protects fearlessly ALL ON HER OWN. But then the Toad Witch literally cuts Betty down to size. Can Betty prevent disaster before the Toad Witch and her evil army launch a terrible attack on Wobbly Rock? And when will she learn that she doesn't have to do stuff ALL ON HER OWN any more? Join us for fights and friendships! Lasagne-eating snails and slimy villains! Meet Betty and her crew: Figg the imp, Simon Anderson the stallion in tiger-print cycling shorts, Elle Emen O’Pea the trumpet-playing mouse in a bobble hat, and many, many more! Just jolly join us! HOT CROSS BUNS!
Betty and her Wobbly Rock pals are off to celebrate the famous Turnip Festival in the kingdom of Upper Crust. Betty is still as tiddly as a piece of toast. What could possibly go wrong THIS time? For readers of You’re A Bad Man, Mr Gum and Grimwood! The VIPs of Wobbly Rock can’t wait to attend Queen McNiff’s legendary Turnip Festival in the neighbouring kingdom of Upper Crust. But when Betty meets a fashionable forest sprite called Misty Jamjar, it dawns on her that perhaps her old pals aren’t as sophisticated as she once thought. Misty convinces Betty that being small ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. If Betty can help Misty break into the Queen’s heavily guarded vault, they might just be able to gain access to the Orb of Ogg. This legendary Orb has the potential to change Betty back to her original, stunning height. GOLLY GHERKINS! It’s not as if Misty Jamjar is a secret baddy or anything. And Betty isn’t going to accidentally become as tall as a massive giant. That would be ridiculous.
