Unsymmetrical Body (FLP, 2022) is a full-length poetry collection including free verse and prose poems that explore themes such as communication, disability, motherhood, place, memory, divorce, grief, relationships and humility with honesty. They explore communication's many modes: the huge and minute verbalizations, silences, actions and images that surround us. Also, how language can be contradictory, indecisive, shifty considering perspectives, and sometimes inadequate for expressing grief and love. Poems circle back to want: of sustaining relationships, recovery in the face of divorce and trauma, the richness friendships and family offer, solitude necessary for survival. Poems explore an aching appreciation for the people and places of the past. Poems also hint at profound hope and joy, an anxious trying, the simple everyday acceptance of an aging, unsymmetrical body and unsymmetrical life different than anticipated but nonetheless full with connections to others and the environment. Poems explore the stability, feigned security, and limitations of small towns. They chronicle quiet moments like exploring the woods, cleaning out the garage, simple routines, and work as a speech-language pathologist with adults and children. They aren't shy about the random, buzzing "mommy moments" like overreactions, searching for children in crowds, and recognizing limitations.

In 1666, The Great Fire of London raged from the 2nd of September and for a very long time. King Charles II joined with people trying to quell the fire filling the leather buckets with water. Samuel Pepys, Clerk of the Privy Seal wrote in his diary about the fire. Gunpowder was used to make a firebreak to ease the fire but nothing helped as the houses were made of wood. The Quare Family Saga is a story of the family when the fire began. The sons of Mr Quare were suddenly into a life of intrigue and a sense of awareness they had not ever felt or had such adventures before.

From the sweeping vistas of Jamaica's shores to Georgian England's gilded halls...If only there had been a white boy named Brixton and a black boy named Dexter who had grown up as brothers, nursing at the same mother's breast, celebrating their shared heritage and the dream of racial harmony. If only ancient spells could give power to the helpless and stem the brutality of oppressors. Jamaica in the late 1700s and early 1800s was at a crossroads. The abolition of slavery was on the horizon. In the colonies, the white and black races had been mixing for generations. They had formed a new society with a culture born of oppression harboring a deep desire to mix freely while charting a new course for themselves by taking the reins of freedom into their own hands. Instead, emancipation came slowly and painfully, leaving a legacy of bitterness and resentment that poisoned the politics of future generations because the dawning of a new age and the enlightenment it would bring was ignored. In Lynda Edwards' utopian fantasy, Jamaicans take the torch of freedom into their own hands and join the abolition movement that is gathering force in Britain. Good-hearted Lords and Ladies work behind the scenes to grease the wheels of progress as we witness the intricate romances and elegant customs of a bygone age while meeting a captivating array of characters. Lynda's book transcends history's oppressive grasp and conjures up a romantic age where anything is possible. We emerge from her dream world with renewed faith in the possibilities that lie ahead. By showing us what might have been, she points the way to what yet might be. If only...

This new Pillar commentary devotes attention throughout to the vocabulary, historical background, special themes, and narrative purpose that make the book of Luke unique among the four Gospels. Though the Gentile focus of Luke is often held to be primary, James Edwards counterbalances that by citing numerous evidences of Luke's overarching interest in depicting Jesus as the fulfillment of the providential work of God in the history of Israel, and he considers the possibility that Luke himself was a Jew. Edwards also draws out other important thematic issues in excursuses scattered throughout the commentary, including discussion of Luke's infancy narrative, the mission of Jesus as the way of salvation, and Luke's depiction of the universal scope of the gospel. This readable, relevant commentary attends to the linguistic, historical, literary, and theological elements of Luke that are essential to its meaning and considers Luke's significance for the church and the life of faith today.

§1 Faced by the questions mentioned in the Preface I was prompted to write this book on the assumption that a typical reader will have certain characteristics. He will presumably be familiar with conventional accounts of certain portions of mathematics and with many so-called mathematical statements, some of which (the theorems) he will know (either because he has himself studied and digested a proof or because he accepts the authority of others) to be true, and others of which he will know (by the same token) to be false. He will nevertheless be conscious of and perturbed by a lack of clarity in his own mind concerning the concepts of proof and truth in mathematics, though he will almost certainly feel that in mathematics these concepts have special meanings broadly similar in outward features to, yet different from, those in everyday life; and also that they are based on criteria different from the experimental ones used in science. He will be aware of statements which are as yet not known to be either true or false (unsolved problems). Quite possibly he will be surprised and dismayed by the possibility that there are statements which are "definite" (in the sense of involving no free variables) and which nevertheless can never (strictly on the basis of an agreed collection of axioms and an agreed concept of proof) be either proved or disproved (refuted).
Integration and Harmonic Analysis on Compact Groups

These notes provide a reasonably self-contained introductory survey of certain aspects of harmonic analysis on compact groups. The first part of the book seeks to give a brief account of integration theory on compact Hausdorff spaces. The second, larger part starts from the existence and essential uniqueness of an invariant integral on every compact Hausdorff group. Topics subsequently outlined include representations, the Peter–Weyl theory, positive definite functions, summability and convergence, spans of translates, closed ideals and invariant subspaces, spectral synthesis problems, the Hausdorff-Young theorem, and lacunarity.
Eafin Lokdore and the Magician's Lost Medallion

Little does he know that his life is about to change irrevocably when he stumbles upon an age-old threat to their Kingdom. In order to save their homeland, he is soon being apprenticed by the aged-sage Methusass, the Kingdom's Master Magician. Eafin has survived his parent's earlier deaths and now at age fifteen must come face to face with the evil sorcerer Dredmon who destroyed them. This very action which is required for fulfilling Eafin's destiny may soon come to cost him his very life.

appear in Volume 1, a Roman numeral "I" has been prefixed as a reminder to the reader; thus, for example, "I,B.2.1 " refers to Appendix B.2.1 in Volume 1. An understanding of the main topics discussed in this book does not, I hope, hinge upon repeated consultation of the items listed in the bibli ography. Readers with a limited aim should find strictly necessary only an occasional reference to a few of the book listed. The remaining items, and especially the numerous research papers mentioned, are listed as an aid to those readers who wish to pursue the subject beyond the limits reached in this book; such readers must be prepared to make the very considerable effort called for in making an acquaintance with current research literature. A few of the research papers listed cover devel opments that came to my notice too late for mention in the main text. For this reason, any attempted summary in the main text of the current standing of a research problem should be supplemented by an examin ation of the bibliography and by scrutiny of the usual review literature.

The title "Some People" was derived from the fact that some people know me by my actual birth name which is "Rupert Lloyd Edwards, as opposed to my professional name, which is "Rupie Edwards", coupled with the fact that some people know that my actual date of birth date is the 4th of July, as opposed to others who know my registered date of birth, which is the 3rd of July. In light of this I thought the title "Some People" would make an ideal book title, for this my autobiography.
