In un mondo orientato alla massimizzazione delle potenzialit della maggioranza della popolazione, spesso rendiamo pi difficile l'accesso e l'utilizzo dei talenti di individui con abilit fisiche diverse per contribuire alla societ . Le politiche dei legislatori mirano a favorire il maggior numero possibile di persone e quindi rendono pi difficile per alcuni gruppi minoritari impegnarsi in modo costruttivo con il resto del mondo. Ad esempio, costruiamo delle scale per poter accedere comodamente a luoghi pi alti, ma le persone con disabilit fisiche o diversamente abili incontrano enormi difficolt a superare la barriera che abbiamo involontariamente creato per loro. Tuttavia, non possibile eliminare completamente le scale e costruire rampe dappertutto, perch ci potrebbe rendere la vita difficile alla popolazione generale. Per questo motivo, necessario attrezzare e innovare i concetti di sedia a rotelle per garantire che i nostri amici diversamente abili non debbano affrontare pi difficolt nella loro vita di quante ne abbiano gi . Questo un problema che cerchiamo di risolvere.

La composizione prossimale del panello di semi di rosella mostra un valore pi elevato di sostanza secca e ceneri rispetto al panello di arachidi, nonch di treonina e cistina (0,74mg/100g, 1,24mg/100g) rispetto al GNC (0,34mg/100g, 0,62mg/100g). I trattamenti dietetici hanno determinato un aumento del peso finale e del guadagno medio giornaliero all'aumentare del livello di RSC nella dieta. I risultati della prima prova di alimentazione hanno mostrato che, nella fase di avvio, il peso corporeo finale e l'incremento medio giornaliero erano significativamente pi elevati nei volatili alimentati con diete a base di RSC rispetto agli altri trattamenti dietetici. Anche l'assunzione giornaliera di mangime aumentata all'aumentare del livello di RSC nella dieta. Nella fase di finissaggio, anche il peso finale e l'assunzione giornaliera di mangime aumentano linearmente con l'aumentare del livello di RSC nella dieta. Sulla base dei risultati di questo studio, si concluso che il 33% di RSC con l'integrazione di aminoacidi pu migliorare le prestazioni dei polli da carne senza effetti negativi.

The emergence of a global information society is accelerating the pace of change and overwhelming established methods of organizing and governing that were developed for a world of more limited information flows and clearer boundaries. As a result, we find ourselves in the midst of a fundamental transformation. Signs of that transformation include the radical restructuring of corporate and public bureaucracies; shifting boundaires between different sectors of society, and levels of government; a growing interest in direct participation in decision-making; and, new challenges to the legitimacy of many traditional institutions. To succeed in this more interconnected and rapidly changing world, both the public and private sectors are recognizing the urgent need to develop governance and decision-making systems that are both more distributed (in which many more people can participate) and more learning-based; decision-making systems that also can operate effectively across shifting boundaries. The ability of a society to prosper in a world of rapid change will depend, in no small measure, on its ability to develop such learning-based governance systems. This book describes the activities and conclusions of a roundtable of senior Canadian government officials and private sector executives, who worked with researchers and leading international authorities over seven years to make sense of the implications for governance of the emergence of a global information society, and to develop more effective approaches to governing in this new context. Both in its substantitve conclusions, and in its own ongoing process of strategic dialogue and learning, the roundtable illustrated ways in which we can improve the art of governing in a world of rapid change.
