What makes a dog special? Is it their breed? Is it their color? Could it be their personality? Or maybe it's what they love to do? Maybe it's time to ask our four-legged friends, and see what they have to say for themselves. In his next children's picture book, "A Dog By Any Other Name is Not the Same," author J.G. Piper takes a look at what makes each dog unique. Each dog is a different breed, lives in a different place, and offers a different perspective. They tell their stories in captivating rhyme and rhythm, and every page is stunningly illustrated by internationally-known artist, Linda Apple. Readers of all ages will discover what our furry storytellers have to say about their place in the world. And as you get to know each dog, you'll find a way to celebrate your own unique presence in life.
A Personal Search for Understanding Evolution: Sharing the same world and similar genome . . . but not the same ancestry or destiny
A Personal Search for Understanding Evolution: Sharing the same world and similar genome... but not the same ancestry or destinyBy: Jay D. Clark, M.D. Good standards of scientific investigation seem to be suspended when it comes to evolution. This work points out scientific flaws in the theory of evolution and explains the fallacy of a godless creation and purposeless existence. Hard evidence of genetic entropy is presented to show the reality of devolution (evolution's opposite). Although we are devolving physically, life gives us an opportunity to evolve spiritually. We can endure almost anything now if we are able to understand what we have to live for. The life and gospel of Jesus Christ offer realistic hope for unspeakable joy beyond mortality. About the AuthorJay D. Clark, M.D. was born in Los Angeles, California in 1946. There, he attended military school through junior high before completing high school and a year of college in Washington state. From 1965 to 1968, Jay served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Brazilian South Mission. He then attended Brigham Young University where he met Pat Hoge. They were married in 1968 and graduated together from BYU in 1970. Together they have six children and twenty-three grandchildren.Jay attended medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico where he received his M.D. degree in 1974. Following his residency in Cleveland, Ohio he became board-certified in ophthalmology and founded Utah's first Medicare-certified eye surgery center in 1985. In 2006, Jay joined the Church's vision advisory committee for worldwide humanitarian projects and became a short-term specialist for vision project development and training. In 2010, he was called to serve as president of the Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission where he and Pat served together until 2013. Since then, Jay has served as a stake president and temple sealer. His personal interests include scuba diving, music, and time with family.

The most explosive issue in the church today is the issue of homosexuality and gay marriage. This novel explores the tension that exists between Christian faith and same-sex attraction. While not doctrinaire or polemic, the novel seeks to explain how it is possible to be gay and a Christian. The characters are both compelling and believable and the story weaves through different plot lines that will leave you turning the pages as fast as you can.
Somewhere Under the Rainbow: A Christian Look at Same-Sex Marriage

Somewhere Under the Rainbow: A Christian Look at Same-Sex Marriage

This book looks at the events and forces that over the course of decades have undermined the traditional view of marriage to such an extent, as to allow the idea of same-sex "marriage" to become the law of the land. It examines the biblical view of marriage since that view has been the assumption of most of western civilization for the last 2,000 years. It also considers the early Church Father's view on marriage as well as ancient Greece and Rome. It then examines the arguments used by same-sex marriage advocates to see if in fact Christians need to rethink the issue of homosexuality and marriage and adopt a more "inclusive" interpretation of Scripture. Finally, it looks at how the church can help those struggling with homosexuals who desire to lead godly lives in accordance with His Word. The authors are conservative evangelicals who believe in the inerrancy of Scripture that it is sufficient for faith and practice. They believe that the issue of same-sex "marriage" goes to the heart of who we are as human beings and challenges the biblical teaching that the church has held for over 2,000 years. The goal is not to win arguments but to win souls, to give clarity to those confused by the claims of same-sex "marriage" advocates, and to help the church reach out anew to those dealing with homosexuality in their lives.
A Street Through Time: A 12,000 Year Journey Along the Same Street
Have you ever wondered what your street was like thousands of years ago? This illustrated history book for children takes you on a 12,000-year journey to find out the story of a single street. Think of the street you live on. Now think of how it may have looked in the Stone Age in 10,000 BCE, or in Victorian times during the Industrial Revolution, or how it may look 50 years from now. A Street Through Time takes you on a time-traveling journey that you won't forget. Highly detailed illustrations bring 15 key periods in time to life. You will see magnificent buildings go up and come down, new churches built on the site of ancient temples, wooden bridges destroyed and then remade in stone, and statues demolished then unearthed many years later. You'll find out how people lived long ago - the tools they used, what they wore, and what they did all day. Revised and updated for a new generation, A Street Through Time now includes a look at the street 50 years in the future.
Dopple Dribble: You Will Never Look at a Basketball the Same Way Again
His name was Adam Kyler. He had eyes as black as licorice jujubes and a spit curl hooked across his forehead that reminded me of a young Superman. He was nine years old. It wasn't his fault he was standing in the alley, but I shot him just the same... DOPPLE DRIBBLE is a story of revenge from beyond the grave and I guarantee you without a shadow of a doubt that after you read this story the VERY next time that you hear the sound of some kid walking down the sidewalk under the streetlights dribbling a basketball you are going to spend the rest of the night, scared stiff and wide awake. Don't say that I did not warn you. "If Harlan Ellison, Richard Matheson and Robert Bloch had a three-way sex romp in a hot tub, and then a team of scientists came in and filtered out the water and mixed the leftover DNA into a test tube, the resulting genetic experiment would most likely grow up into Steve Vernon." - Bookgasm
