Hello, my name is Brody O'Shea and like many young Irish boys of thirteen, I dreamed of sailing the seven seas - exploring new lands - fighting off pirates single handed - saving young damsels in distress - and overcoming all odds to save my friends who were in danger. In some of my dreams, I owned a large island and was the king. In my dreams, life wasalways grand Then, when I was able to go to sea as a midshipman on a cargo ship, those dreams were put by the wayside when I actually came face to face with real pirates. Some were not only pirates, but pirates with wizards powers Finally, when an evil wizard-pirate known as Abaddon captured my twin sister, my parents and my friends to make slaves of them on his mysterious island, known as Morador, my life changed forever. How was I, a young lad of thirteen supposed to do battle against a mighty wizard like Abaddon? Well, it's all in this book.

Yda Addis's Travel Guide: With her father, Alfred Shea Addis's, Dispatches from late 19th century Arizona and New Mexico Territories....
While Yda Addis was a well known 19th century writer of stories with topics such as ghosts, unrequited love, and murder, however, as a travel writer little was known until now. She offers a rare look at the difficulties of 19th century travel in Mexico and the American Southwest. Here she introduces the Queer Mexicans as she calls them: venomous, "almost human-like," and edible These oddities she presents mixed with her personal accounts of dangerous and close to death travel experiences, creates a Travel Guide like none other. Her father, Alfred Shea Addis, (A.S. Addis) was not known as a writer, but as an itinerant photographer. Through his journeys from towns in Arizona and New Mexico Territories, during the last phase of the Apache Wars, he expressed his disdain in dispatches to newspapers. When he described what he saw and what he experienced, he blamed the corrupt U.S. Politicians and the Military for not stopping the Apaches from slaughtering the settlers. However, between rages he mixed in quaint and charming views of Southwestern frontier life that entailed love, marriage, divorce and money.

Please Hold On, I Don't Know What To Say Yet
Somehow I think that no matter how many poems I write, it'll never be enough to capture everything I'm feeling. It's like a camera, you'll never take the same picture multiple times unless you want something to be clearer. I'm always switching between emotions, as if they were clothes and I needed to constantly wash them. I hope one day that I will be able to write a poem that will fully capture what I have always felt. But maybe if I do that, I'll never be able to write again. If I'm content, will that be an issue? To never write again? Yet again, I'm left wondering.

Indigenous Cultural Property and International Law

Examining the restitution of cultural property to Indigenous Peoples in human rights law, this book offers a detailed analysis of the opportunities and constraints of international law as a tool of resistance and social transformation for marginalized groups. In accordance with an increasing insistence on respect for diverse cultures, and through their own international mobilization, Indigenous Peoples have participated in the construction of a distinct human rights framework. Significant academic inquiry has focused on the substantive gains made by Indigenous Peoples in this context, along with its impact on a body of law that had previously denied Indigenous Peoples a basis for claims to their own cultural materials and practices. Accordingly, this book acknowledges that Indigenous Peoples, as non-state actors, have generated greater substantive and procedural legitimacy in human rights law making. Offering normative insights into the participation of non-state actors in international law making, however, it also demonstrates that, despite their significant role in constructing the legal framework of human rights in the 21st century, the participation of Indigenous Peoples continues to be structurally limited. With its interdisciplinary approach to the field, this book will appeal to scholars and students in the fields of law, politics, anthropology and indigenous studies.

These are the things that I've always wanted: To get the top grades in my class. To make my grandmother proud. And most of all, proof that I could succeed where the rest of my family had not: a Stanford acceptance letter, early admission. My mother and my sister were obsessed with boys and love and sex. So obsessed that they lost sight of their futures, of what they wanted. And in the end, they lost everything. I'll never let a boy distract me. I promised myself that. But that was before Tate. Before the biggest pop star on the planet took an interest in me. Before private planes and secret dates and lyrics meant for me alone. There's so much I don't know. Like why he left music. Where he goes when we're not together. What dark past he's hiding. But when we kiss, the future feels far away. And now...I'm not sure what I want.
