I (Alan Agarrat - the author) am a retired civil engineer and like the carpenter's son - Jesus Christ of approximately 2000 years ago, I take a subtle swipe at "men's establishments". Christ did not have a "Human qualification" in theology, neither have I. My thoughts are likely to be from GOD. The ills of this present world are all due to detrimental thoughts and the question should be: "how or if mankind will correct this?". Some reasons for this lack of correction are implied within. This publication is intended to give "food for thought" and my interpretations of some Bible passages. I trust it gives many people a refreshing way of thinking, ie having fresh "Thoughts". Alan Agarrat - [email protected] The Bible matters to GOD and hopefully so does this booklet. "A booklet is not to be valued by its price or dimensions..."

When Freeport Middle School's football team has a 6-week winning streak, Alan Murphy suspects that his friend, Brent, has something to do with the sudden improvement by the team. At the next game, Alan notices that the opposition players are falling down at critical points in the game and whatever device is being used is pure Bren Blakely. Determined to help his friend, even if his help is not wanted, Alan and his friend Lynette develop their own plan to 'juke' the crooks who are behind Brent's uncharacteristic cheating scheme.

But then something quite unexpected and moving, because Big Beacon also tells the story of a selfless man, driven to restore an old lighthouse to its former glory, motivated by nothing more than respect for a quietly heroic old building that many take for granted, which some people think is a metaphor for Alan himself even though it's not really for them to say.* Leaving his old life behind and relocating to a small coastal village in Kent, Alan battles through adversity, wins the hearts and minds of a suspicious community, and ultimately shows himself to be a quite wonderful man. * The two strands will run in tandem, their narrative arcs mirroring each other to make the parallels between the two stories abundantly clear to the less able reader.
