Intercepting Functions for Memoization

Intercepting Functions for Memoization

We have proposed mechanisms to implement function memoization at a software level as part of our effort to improve sequential code performance. We have analyzed the potential of function memoization on applications and its performance gain on current architectures. We have proposed three schemes - a simple load time approach which works for any dynamically linked function, a compile time approach using LLVM framework which can enable memoization for any program function and also a hardware proposal for doing memoization in hardware and its potential benefits. Demonstration of the link time approach with transcendental functions showed that memoization is applicable and gives good benefit even under modern architectures and compilers (with the restriction that it can be applied only for dynamically linked functions). Our compile time approach extends the scope of memoization and also increases the benefit due to memoization. This works for both user defined functions as well as library functions. It can handle certain kind of non pure functions like those functions with pointer arguments and global variable usage.

Neural tube defect (NTD) is not uncommon in Bangladesh. Among the nutritional factors related to neural tube defects, in addition to Folate, low level of serum zinc has been described by many authors in the recent time. This study was conducted with the objective of finding the relationship of serum zinc with NTD in a Bangladeshi population. This case control study was conducted between in BSMMU, Dhaka. Newborns with neural tube defects and their mothers were considered as cases and normal babies and their mothers were taken as controls. Mothers taking zinc supplements in any part of pregnancy were excluded from the study. Venous blood specimens from mothers and newborns were obtained at or within one week of delivery. Serum zinc concentration was determined by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. Low level of serum zinc in the mothers and newborns were found to be associated with neural tube defects, which is consistent with some other studies. However, it is also evident that some other factors (maternal parity etc) could significantly be associated with this defect. To confirm these findings, a further study with a larger sample size is recommended.

Poetry is one of finest way for a writer to express his feelings in terms of words. It not only heals the writer himself, but provides an elegant way for the readers to get sink in the words expressed in the line of poetry. William Wordsworth once said, " Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility." So anyone can easily guess the power of poetry.

From Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason", his amazing proof using thesis and anti-thesis, hooked author to do similar thing. Thus beginning from thought, and thought processing, with conflict of thoughts and examining various terms, an attempt to know about the term 'Identity' and 'Existence' has been made, also with the word 'Cognition' defined as more rigid to specify an state of any certain body has been attempted, and finally coming to Kritima's Equatorial Constant and Equation. With poor proof-reading and the contents in the book, mingled with each other as per their necessity, author has finally attempted to define existence as " I exist, for the least possible unit of time by which I can cognize my environment, until the laws of nature, offers me another least possible units of time, till my physical identity remains in cognizable form, for me as well as observers observing me." and attempting to answer other questions by the help of Probabilistic Argument, "I guess, I don't know?/."

The construction industry of India is an important indicator of the development as it creates investment opportunities across various related sectors. The construction industry has contributed an estimated ₹ 308 billion to the national GDP in 2011-12 (a share of around 19%). The industry is fragmented, with a handful of major companies involved in the construction activities across all segments; medium-sized companies specializing in niche activities; and small and medium contractors who work on the subcontractor basis and carry out the work in the field. In 2011, there were slightly over 500 construction equipment manufacturing companies in all of India. The sector is labour intensive and, including indirect jobs, provides employment to more than 35 million people. The construction industry is the second largest industry in India after agriculture. It makes significant contribution to the national economy and provides employment to large number of people. The infrastructure sector is a key driver for the Indian economy. The sector is highly responsible for propelling India's overall development and enjoys intense focus from Government.

Indian mustard Brassica juncea (L.) Czern & Coss] is an important oilseed crop. It belongs to family (Brassicaceae) Crucifereae. Indian mustard is natural amphidiploids having 36 chromosomes (2n). It is self-pollinated but certain amount of pollination (2-15%) occurs due to insects and other factors. The largest cultivation of Brassica crops is done for edible vegetable oil production. They also play a pivotal role in world's agricultural economy and are recognized for their long history of cultivation and varied uses. They are widely cultivated throughout the world as condiments and spices for improved flavour of human diet and as fodder crop for livestock feeding. The oilseed Brassica crops are generally grouped as rape and mustard. Commonly cultivated species are B. compestris var. Sarson Prain. Yellow and brown sarson; B. campestris var. toria; B. juncea Czern and Coss; rai and Eruca sativa Lam.: taramira. They are second most important oilseed crops of India after groundnut in terms of area and production.
