Emma James was the last victim of the child molester Paul "Piggy" Peterson. Not long after the incident, Peterson ended his own life while Emma's mother, Rhoda James, started a victim support group called Angel's Shield for not only her daughter, but others who had similar experiences.Emma's a teenager now. Though she has moved on and become a stronger person, her mother has long since lost herself in Angel's Shield, which has become more about Rhoda's ego than reaching out to help victims. As well, Emma still feels the lingering pain of what was done to her. And when she meets Justice, many of those old wounds are ripped open. But Justice is not the person Emma expected and the two soon form a friendship. But Rhoda James would not approve of this friendship. Why?Justice is the daughter of Paul Peterson, the man many called "Piggy."

Brit Barron grew up in an Evangelical megachurch in the '90s, trying to fit neatly inside the boundaries her church and its narrow view of God had placed around her. She was boxed in by her fears, unable to realize her full potential. All that changed when she met a girl named Sami, fell in love, and chose to leave behind those narrow boundaries in favor of a fuller and more vibrant life.In Worth It, Brit tells her story to inspire all of us to overcome our own fears--the kinds of fears that keep us from evolving beyond the narratives that have been handed to us by others. We can't avoid or outrun these fears, but if we face them, we'll find out that it was so worth it!

I guarantee you will find this information valuable, so don't forget to leave a review, and share the wealth You're about to discover how to save money and take control of your Ballroom and social dance future. Whatever your excuse, it is JUST an excuse. In 'Yes You CAN Ballroom Dance', I provide the facts so that you can make an informed decision about what is, and is not, possible when it comes to dancing. Whatever the excuse, you CAN dance...and I can prove it In Section One, the excuses are debunked. A sad fact of the Western world is that many people mistakenly conclude that they can't couple dance because they can't move like Michael Jackson did. But they haven't been taught that ballroom dance requires different skills. Learn the rules, practice a little, and soon you will be dancing around the floor in happy abandon This section was designed so that the one who wants to dance can give it to the one who doesn't want to dance, along with the words, "Just read the first section. If that doesn't convince you to at least give Couple Dance a try, I'll give you some peace." Section Two: Decision Made. Here I talk about the different dances and how they might be used. You will learn about the different types of lessons and how they are used to help you learn efficiently and quickly. You also learn how to determine if you have an honest studio, and a knowledgeable teacher. This is the meat of the book as it will give you the information, going in, to negotiate with knowledge of what you are getting into. Section Three is like a notebook of information I think it is useful for every student to have. Here you'll learn the difference between a slot, a spot, and a progressive dance. You'll learn a little about foot and room alignments, and why it's important to know these things. I discuss Dance frame, timing, and many other useful topics. Here Is A Preview Of What You'll Learn... How to negotiate effectively with a studio or independent teacher How to overcome objections to learning to Ballroom Dance How to find partners, and ask them to dance How to find the right teacher What the different dances are and how you might use them How the different lessons work together How to become a teacher How to fire a teacher Much, much more There are no more excuses to delay learning to Ballroom and social dance any longer. 'Yes You CAN Ballroom Dance' has removed all excuses, except your own fear. But it can do even that, if you let it.

The impetus for stories comes from the Muses. Old myths, many of them five thousand years old, provide a seed of truth, a plot, a glimpse of character that can be developed in a modern context. Societal structures, patriarchy, family, religion, cultural norms and mores, and women's hopes and goals shape these stories, and push and pull these female protagonists into their arcs. The reality for women in the twenty-first century is that fully half the households in the U.S. are headed by a single, working mother. One in three women are raped. Millions across the globe migrate to escape war, famine and destruction of their environment. All face discrimination based on gender. I have no interest in writing escapist fiction with a happy ending. I do, however, want to tell gripping stories about the truth of women's lives. "Medea Royal" began this journey for me several years back. Others: Jocasta, Eurydice, Kata, Mnemosyne, Alice, Claire, etc. seemed to push forward in my creative imagination waving their raised hands, "Me next " they shouted from my dreams.

Women protagonists who push back against obstacles tell interesting stories. Myths, thousands of years old, set in the twenty-first century challenge contemporary issues facing women: traditional mores, patriarchy, religious superstition, unfaithful lovers, violence, and glass ceilings, among others. Medea, Jocasta, Mnemosyne and Eurydice are tales that are loosely re-told in this first book of short stories by Brit Chism. Contemporary issues of trafficking, homelessness, immigration, and family (Mother-daughters, and mother-son) are treated as well.

In this forty-fifth anniversary edition, a humble, one-armed Swiss farmer named Billy Meier documents his date with destiny with hundreds of photos, videos, and written conversations with extraterrestrial visitors from the Pleiades star cluster. UFO...Contact from the Pleiades offers the inside story of one of the most remarkable and convincing extraterrestrial encounters ever reported. For the first time--forty-five years after their original publication--the two photo-journal volumes of UFO...Contact from the Pleiades are combined in one book for a modern audience, with a new foreword written by Shirley MacLaine, a prologue written by Mexican UFOlogist Jamie Maussan, and a new introduction and preface written by Brit Elders. This photo-journal presents the unique contact case of a Swiss farmer, Billy Meier, who claims to have met with the Pleiadians hundreds of times, compiling many layers of evidence including notes on their conversations, hundreds of photographs, movie footage, audio recordings of the craft, landing tracks of the spaceships, dozens of witnesses, and even metal samples of the craft itself. The quality and amount of evidence was convincing, making this unlike any case previously seen. UFO...Contact from the Pleiades takes the reader back to a time before home computers, digital photography, and easily accessible photo enhancement programs. Yet the evidence--analyzed in laboratories around the world--could not be easily dismissed, and supported the claims of the contactee, Billy Meier. The breathtaking images, profound words of the Pleiadians, and the extensive investigation that spanned seven years are as relevant today as they were forty-five years ago.

Juana Diego and the Roses is a book of short stories about women protagonists. They struggle with contemporary issues: gender discrimination, violence, unfaithful lovers, frustrated ambition, dishonest coworkers, outdated social mores, and patriarchy. No knight in shining armor or superman here--the women rely on their own resources and strengths to overcome (or succumb)--there is no guaranteed happy ending. Indeed the myths of Prince Charming and happily ever after are often misrepresentations. These are not period pieces, but contemporary 21st century stories that could be set where you live, and deal with the issues that today's woman faces.

If Brit Washburn were a painter she would be like Vermeer, following a certain slant of illumination into a dimly lit interior, drawing our attention to the pear on the table, or the child's tiny curled hand. Here is a poetry of clarity and finely wrought detail, that never fails to render what is present, regardless of its tragedy or beauty, and insisting on both. The poems in Notwithstanding, hover, as the title suggests, between the presence of what is, despite that which is not. A lover whom we long for despite our leaving, the golden child we knew inside the troubled young man, the lives we build that fail to nurture us, what we ate, remembered, forgot to remember. Few poets venture into the shadows of romantic love and motherhood with the courage that Washburn brings, examining a decade of choices and their results with a clear-eyed measure. The language here is constantly pressing against the safe path, arguing for a life that is lived fully, tragically, joyously. What is the pleasure of now, these poems ask, the taste of ripe fruit, a child's embrace? And what if now is all we have?
