Carter Stone is a handsome man of humble means who spent his days carefree in the pursuit of simple pleasures, that was until his focus was altered and forced into an entirely new understanding of his own capabilities as well as a power he may one day come to wield. His trials only beginning in the end of the last, as he now takes on a new task in a terrifying setting, that awakens a primal depiction of soul within creation itself. The modern age he was born into now warped into a savage display of artwork among Kings as he is thrust into a distortion of time after losing his way on a safari of exploration. The young man walking willingly forward into a bygone era of terror and insight from ancient seats and understandings that keep him spry and wild in contests upon sands, battles of war and the delicate dance of everyday life against man, myths, monsters and a divine legacy that will echo in the ages with songs of a brave Warrior sent by God to bring light to the darkest parts of this beautiful creation. His entire being altered and reformed into the image of divinity for the sake of this world as well as the preservation of his own self.

Carterhaugh Ba’

Carterhaugh Ba’

On December 4, 1815, 750 ba’ players came together in a mighty contest on the field of Carterhaugh, near Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, for what was advertised as ‘a Great Foot-Ball Match’. On December 4, 2015, two bands of dedicated ba’ players descended on Carterhaugh to celebrate the bicentenary of the match by joining battle in another no-holds-barred contest. For anyone interested the true origins of the game of rugby in the centuries-old mass ba’ games of the Scottish Borders and the North of England – still alive and kicking to this day – here are tales wonderfully told by historians of the game. Cracked crowns, furious duckings, acts of never-to-be-forgotten heroism and unforgivable betrayal – Ian Landles relives the dramas of the original 1815 Carterhaugh Ba’ match, recalls Walter Scott’s pivotal role in organising it, and in the process rewrites the early history of rugby. The late Hugh Hornby describes the enduring appeal of mass football games today. Billy Gillies explains why the Border ba’ game is absolutely not just a game but a serious business, and gives a blow-by-blow account of the 2015 re-enactment. Historic images, verses and letters, alongside photographs by leading Scottish photographers, tell a story that has waited two centuries to be told.

In North Carolina's Down East region, beautiful scenery and landscapes are an everyday occurrence, whether it be a peaceful day full of clear, azure skies or a tempestuous climate marked by dramatic clouds of black and gray illuminated by streaks of brilliant lightning. Born in 1911 in Morehead City, Reginald Worth Lewis, a gifted painter and photographer, found inspiration in this environment for his art and documented the area's natural beauty through his attentive brushstrokes and his camera's ever-vigilant lens. Possessing an eye for the area's natural artistry, Reginald Lewis was able to photograph and capture truly the Down East experience. This volume, with over 200 black-and-white photographs, celebrates his vision and showcases some of his best work over his award-winning career. Mr. Lewis recorded the area's charm by finding symmetry and compelling subject matter in the everyday and mundane, such as scenes along the waterfront, from shrimpers returning after a long day's trip, to dilapidated boats lining the shoreline, to fishermen hard at work retrieving full nets, to cats finding leisure and sport along the docks. Throughout the book, these images provide readers an opportunity to experience the Down East of yesteryear, a time when Morehead City was still a small fishing and shrimping village and the pace of life was measured by the changing tides.

The contagious spirits of Grayden and Mary Paul endure in this reprinting of a beloved Tar Heel classic. For decades, the Pauls educated and entertained locals and tourists alike with their engrossing storytelling and unforgettable songs, which can now be enjoyed as their lasting legacy. From the history of the first inhabitants of the region to tales about whaling, pirates, shipwrecks and rum-running, the lore of Carteret County is both a captivating read and an apt reminder of how important it is to preserve and promote the history of a community for generations to come.
Carterhaugh - The story of Tam Lin: Historical novel based on a Sottish ballad
The historical novel Carterhaugh is based on the old Scottish ballad "Tam Lin", which tells how the young, handsome Tam Lin is kidnapped by the Queen of Elves in the forest of Carterhaugh. Jane (Janet), who is expecting his child, rescues him and saves him from being sacrificed to hell. The story is usually set in the period shortly after the Norman Conquest and is about their noble families. However, the characteristics of the plot suggest to me a far earlier age. Fairies and elves date from the Celtic period, when the old Celtic gods were pushed into the background during Christianization. Such beings were then transposed and reinterpreted, and in these guises were preserved in the traditional legends and stories. Also, the mention of hell seems to me to be a Christian interpretation of the Celtic Otherworld. In addition, many well-known Scottish families have claimed the tale of Tam Lin (Lynn, Munroe, Dunbar, Douglas, Lord of Foulis), but none can be unequivocally associated with it - suggesting the story is much older. The ballad ends with Jane winning Tam Lin, but what happened after that, and what was the background? Who was Tam Lin really? Who was the Elf Queen, and who were the people of Carterhaugh? I try to offer an answer set at the end of the ninth century, when the kingdom of the Celtic Gododdin, formerly conquered and suppressed by the Germanic Anglo-Saxons, was liberated by the Scottish troops and annexed to the Kingdom of Scotland (then called Alba). In addition, I have added a Welsh language pronunciation, as it is likely that it was quite similar to the Gododdin language at the time.

Almost everyone in Carterville is related either by blood or by marriage. The sheriff is corrupt and sexually insatiable. His early days included time spent in a cult where he learned the methods of mind-control; shunning, corporal punishment, sleep and sensory deprivation, calorie-restricted diets, and isolation. He developed that knowledge into a skill set and uses it to exploit young women. They come into town, but they don't get out. This story has sexual content intended for the mature reader. Abby Jenkins has just escaped her abusive husband and moved to Carterville with her two teenage daughters Tracy and Tabatha. She is in her mid-to-late thirties and broke. Tabatha, also known as Tabby, works at Bea's Burger Joint to help with the family finances. Its owner Bea Carter is a schizophrenic lesbian with wiry hair and a heavyset build. Bea's cousins are Sheriff Bubba, Deputy Daryl and Judge Bean. Many in the town are related in one way or another. Most of its residents owe their livelihood to the Carters, so are inclined to go along with the family's occasional deviancy, especially where newcomers and people passing through are concerned. One daughter gets framed and incarcerated by the corrupt sheriff and his wicked clan. All three Jenkins women get swept into a submissive situation. Excerpts: One of our best customers is missing her diamond wedding ring. You were mopping near her table. She thinks you stole it." "Oh no, ma'am. I would never do anything like that I'm a very honest person." "Regardless, the law requires a strip search under these circumstances." "It does? Oh my goodness." She compliantly did as told, bending over the chair, placing her palms on its seat to brace herself. It was a humiliating exposed position with her backside pointing up in the air for inspection. She was anxious to get it over with. Bea returned a moment later. "Sorry, almost everyone is busy with customers. The only one available is Billy Ray." Tabatha looked back to see that he was standing there with her. "NO Not a boy "She tried to stand up, Bea pushed her back down and put on a latex glove. "Don't be silly, let's get this over with. I'm a busy woman " "Now to reaffirm and clarify one important thing. The Jenkins family is submissive to the Carter clan. Are we all on the same page with this?"The three hostesses stood in the middle of the room and nodded in compliant agreement."Good, good. Like I said, let's drink wine and get naked A toast To decadence " He held up his glass, they all did, they all clinked glasses and took a sip. "I am totally hot for both your mom and your sister," she said."You are?" both asked to reconfirm. "Same-sex relationships are new to the three of us, Kate. We're all bi-curious. Tracy has been the only one so far, and that was with you last night. Would you be willing to teach us, show us the techniques, give us tips, let us practice on you?" Emma was strapped down in an awkward, contorted position, her butt hanging over the edge of the table. Tabby zapped it. BZZZT "OUCH What the fuck was that " She displayed a hand-held stun-gun. "... You and I both call him Master when we are alone with him. You will address me as Mistress all of the time." When they finished, he gave her the clothes and threw her out of his office like yesterday's trash. She nearly stumbled over Tabatha who was sitting on the floor eating her dinner off the freshly-cleaned tiles. Tabby turned out the basement lights and left her bound and alone in the dark. Corporal punishment, sensory deprivation, calorie-restricted diet, and isolation, just what the doctor ordered. The day of the auction arrived. The girls were handled like cattle, each tethered to a metal pole in a numbered pen displayed for inspection.
