Catalogue Raisonn of Paintings and Sculptures
One hot topic in contemporary linguistics concerns how we express the passage of time in natural language. In particular, interesting questions have been raised as to how formerly understudied languages fit into deep-rooted theoretical frameworks, which among other features comprise a grammatical category of tense. This monograph mainly contributes to this debate in two complementary ways: through a detailed description of a large set of new data from two varieties of Caboverdean, a Portuguese-related language, and through a novel approach to the role of its few temporal morphemes, which allows to better define how tense meanings, aspect, and mood, together with other linguistic and extralinguistic information, provide what we understand as past, present, and future. The adequate study of this non-standardized language, with its impressive internal variation, thus brings new insights to old theoretical problems. Additionally, a welcome side effect of these new descriptions and analyses is that they promote a scientifically grounded attitude towards linguistic diversity.
Moderne Zulieferbeziehungen in der Automobilindustrie sind paradigmatisch für komplexe Langzeitbeziehungen. Aus dem Langzeitcharakter, der Notwendigkeit enger Kooperation - auch innerhalb eines Netzwerks - und aus daraus resultierender gegenseitiger Abhängigkeit entstehen Spannungsverhältnisse, für die in Unkenntnis der künftigen Entwicklung angemessene Regelungen zu treffen sind. Die Problemkreise des Fehlerrisikos, der Vertragsbeendigung sowie des Schutzes geistigen Eigentums und Know-hows untersucht Fernanda Luisa Bremenkamp unter Einbeziehung des Rechts der Europäischen Union für die englische, die italienische und die deutsche Rechtsordnung. Auf Grundlage einer detaillierten Analyse des jeweiligen rechtlichen Rahmens, der Rechtsprechung und der Standard-Einkaufsbedingungen mehrerer großer Automobilhersteller verknüpft sie nationale Dogmatiken, moderne Privatrechtstheorie und Vertragspraxis. Dabei arbeitet sie die übergreifenden Strukturen privater und staatlicher Regelsetzung heraus.

This highly interdisciplinary thesis covers a wide range of topics relating to the interface of cold atoms, quantum simulation, quantum magnetism and disorder. With a self-contained presentation, it provides a broad overview of the rapidly evolving area of cold atoms and is of interest to both undergraduates and researchers working in the field.Starting with a general introduction to the physics of cold atoms and optical lattices, it extends the theory to that of systems with different multispecies atoms. It advances the theory of many-body quantum systems in excited bands (of optical lattices) through an extensive study of the properties of both the mean-field and strongly correlated regimes. Particular emphasis is given to the context of quantum simulation, where as shown here, the orbital degree of freedom in excited bands allows the study of exotic models of magnetism not easily achievable with the previous alternative systems. In addition, it proposes a new model Hamiltonian that serves as a quantum simulator of various disordered systems in different symmetry classes that can easily be reproduced experimentally. This is of great interest, especially for the study of disorder in 2D quantum systems.
