Asset Securitization

Asset Securitization

Joseph C. Hu

John Wiley Sons Inc
2011

Asset Securitization is intended for beginners and market professionals alike who are interested in learning about asset securitization—its concepts and practices. It is designed so that the readers will come away with a fundamental but comprehensive understanding of the asset securitization market. As such, the book aims to provide a review of the market's development, necessary framework, potential benefits, and detailed descriptions of major asset securitization products. Part I of the book, which consists of four chapters, will discuss the fundamental concepts, the funding efficiency, the market participants, and the potential benefits of asset securitization. An analysis of mortgage finance will be provided in Part II, which consists of six chapters that cover a variety of topics from the description of many different types of residential mortgages to the securitization of different types of residential mortgages, including the now infamous sub-prime mortgages. Also included are important topics, such as prepayments, cash flow structure, maturity and credit tranching, and the trading and relative value of the various mortgage-backed securities. The three chapters in Part III will explain the other major asset securitization products, such as commercial mortgage-backed securities, credit card receivable-backed securities, auto loan-backed securities, and collateralized bond obligations. Part IV has two chapters: one reviews the collapse and the potential recovery of the asset securitization market, and the other describes the asset securitization efforts in Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and China. Extensive tables and charts are presented to help illustrate a concept or describe a product. Neither analytical discussions nor investment strategies of the various asset-backed securities are included as they are not the focus of this book.

Giovanni, Street Urchin of Naples: Giovanni 'O Scugnizzo
The slums of early 20th century Naples are threatened by violence and disease. Thirteen-year-old scugnizzo- street urchin-Giovanni survives by his wits and by alliances with the few he can trust. He and beautiful Filomena eventually fly off to Brooklyn, founding their own business and setting up their American home. Their Brooklyn family sends offshoots to LA, Las Vegas and the Ivy League. Family members serve America in both World Wars and in Korea. As Giovanni integrates into American life, he maintains his good humor and finds family among Americans of all origins. But creeping racist attitudes threaten that broader family. Giovanni's scugnizzo experiences sharpen his own eye for underhanded and illegal activities by American authorities. Some of them question Giovanni's loyalty and whether he fully washed himself free of the filth of Naples' harbor.

They are INVISIBLE.This upsets James very much. She Wants to See Everything. That night, she has a dream that her cat, Max, comes to her and gives her Magic Glasses that will allow her to see invisible things.Max takes her on a journey to the four places on her list.James marvels at the beauty of each, then puts on the Magic Glasses to see the invisible things that are there.Even though the story is a simple one, the science concepts as told, both in the story, and in the "hidden words and symbols", introduces children to the magic of science in the world around them.Within each two-page illustration is a 'hidden word or symbol' for children to find. These words and symbols are science concepts which relate directly to the story. More importantly, they provide scientific information that can be further studied and explored with a parent or teacher. A key to the hidden words and symbols, along with additional information, can be found on the two reference pages at the back of the book. The additional information expressed on the reference pages, allows the book to be read for many years as the child's science literacy grows. The book is perfect for STEM learning in the elementary school classroom. It is also perfect for parents who know that children need to understand the importance of science in a modern world.

Where was your most memorable experience in elementary school? Was it in a classroom, in the gymnasium, the locker room, in a hallway or the staircase between classes? The most impactful learning experiences happen in a variety of physical environments; yet the classroom has traditionally been regarded as the most identifiable place for basic formal learning. But was the formal learning experience what made the greatest lifelong-learning impression on you today? In Lost In Space Joseph Kosiorek will share with you why this experience is critically important. You will learn why the traditional physical learning environment, the classroom alone, is no longer an effective model for PreK-12 education. You will take a journey through time and space, understand why the classroom hasn't changed in over 150 years, and be able to visualize what a better learning environment model looks like. How space impacts our learning both personally and systemically will change the way you look at the schools in your community. Lost In Space will provide you with the fundamental tools necessary to provide learning environments inclusive of all learnings, and set you on a course for meaningful change.
