Hanakia is an ethnic region in central Moravia in the Czech Republic. Although these works are known as operas, they are much closer to be called singspiel. Long after its genesis they were popular and preserved in folk songbooks. For this book I chose two operas "Jora and Manda", and the second work "Marena and Kedrota". The village teacher Josef Pek rek (1758-1820) composed both operas. Libretto was writen by prior of Premonstratensian monastery Josef Mauritius Bul n (1744-1785). Have a nice experience with the music of classicism, which has its roots in folk music.

Described by his contemporaries as the greatest pianist of the era, Josef Hofmann (1876 – 1957) performed on world stages for more than fifty years, enjoying phenomenal professional success and personal adulation. This is the only biography of arguably the most multifaceted artist the piano world has known. Using previously letters, documents, interviews, and personal testimonies from people who knew Hofmann best including Henry Z. Steinway and Shura Cherkassky, Elizabeth Carr uncovers Hofmann’s world, from celebrated prodigy to established artist and private citizen. Hofmann’s extensive pianistic career—as well as other lesser-known professional pursuits into composing, recording, teaching, and music school administrating—are treated in detail. Revealed is an immensely complicated man beneath the artist who mesmerized international audiences with his unique performances from his debut in 1887 until his final recital in 1946. Whether a general reader searching for a provocative account of a complex and controversial personality, a student or teacher seeking facts on this forgotten giant, or a diehard pianophile hungry for previously unrevealed details, this biography will satisfy the most curious and demanding of readers.

About Exiles, Cornell Capa once wrote, Koudelka's unsentimental, stark, brooding, intensely human imagery reflect his own spirit, the very essence of an exile who is at home wherever his wandering body finds haven in the night. In this newly revised and expanded edition of the 1988 classic, which includes ten new images, Koudelka's work once more forms a powerful document of the spiritual and physical state of exile. The sense of private mystery that fills these photographs mostly taken during Koudelkas many years of wandering through Europe since leaving his native Czechoslovakia in 1968 speaks of passion and reserve, of his rage to see. Solitary, moving, deeply felt, and strangely disturbing, the images in Exiles suggest alienation, disconnection, and love. Exiles, edited and sequenced by Koudelka and Robert Delpire, evokes some of the most com - pelling and troubling themes of the twentieth century, while resonating with equal force in this current moment of profound migrations and transience. This edition also includes new text by Robert Delpire and Josef Kudelka.

An intimate portrait of the life and work of one of photography’s most renowned and celebrated artists Throughout his more than sixty-year-long obsession with the medium, Josef Koudelka considers a remarkable range of photographic subjects—from his early theater work, to his seminal project on the Roma and his legendary coverage of the 1968 Soviet invasion of Prague, to the solitariness of exile and the often-devastating impact humans have had on the landscape. Josef Koudelka: Next embraces all of Koudelka’s projects and his evolution as an artist in the context of his life story and working process, offering an unprecedented glimpse into the mind and world of this notoriously private photographer. Based on hundreds of hours of interviews conducted over the course of almost a decade with Koudelka—as well as ongoing conversations with his friends, family, colleagues, and collaborators worldwide—this deftly told, richly illustrated biography offers an unprecedented glimpse into the mind of this notoriously private photographer. Writer, editor, and curator Melissa Harris has independently crafted a unique, in-depth, and revelatory personal history of both the man and his photography. Josef Koudelka: Next is richly illustrated with hundreds of photographs, including many biographical and behind-the-scenes images from Koudelka’s life, as well as iconic images from his work, from the 1950s to the present. The visual presentation is conceived in collaboration with Koudelka himself, as well as his longtime collaborator, Czech designer Aleš Najbrt. Copublished by Aperture and Magnum Foundation
