Back Cover Text for Judy/ Judith Dear Reader: How often have you made decisions based on what your friends may think, or based on guidelines pre-set by society? Doesn't it seem that Christian ladies, especially those of the young adult age, have serious decisions to make as they strive to compete in today's world and yet remain faithful to God's Word? Perhaps, though, the question should be, "Should the Christian lady compete with society's way"? Are we supposed to compromise our salvation in order to 'fit in'? Who should we identify with? Judy/ Judith is a story that shows how easy it is for a lady to lose sight of herself as a Christian, and how to use scripture to get back to the most important thing-our relationship with our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Once that happens, everything else falls back into place, doesn't it? "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you". - Matthew 6:33. About the author: Barbara Newkirk-Holmes is a missionary at Christ Outreach Ministries incorporated COGIC, in Chicago, Illinois. She has written other God-inspired booklets for her church, including You Don't Have To: The Gospel About Bondage, Live the Word, and Lean For Life. She continues to give glory to God and thanks to her family members, her spiritual mother, Dorothy Westbrook, Pastor Ollie Turner, and her spiritual family at Christ Outreach Ministries for their love, prayers and support.

Judy McCoy was the wife of Rick McCoy and mother to Matt and Jennifer. In April of 2016, she was diagnosed with ALL, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is rare to see this form of pediatric leukemia in adults. After 2 rounds of failed chemotherapy and 2 successful rounds of a targeted antibody therapy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Judy was presented for a Bone Marrow Transplant in October of 2016. Unfortunately, a bone marrow biopsy performed in early February 2017 showed that her leukemia had relapsed. Judy traveled to MD Anderson in Houston, TX for a referral appointment in February 2017 to possibly participate in a clinical trial. Throughout the process, Judy remained firm in her faith and continues to be an inspiration to all she met. She said that if going through all this leads even just one person to the Lord, it will have all been worth it. This is her story...

TennyBoots is a narrative of two women on a journey back to love. Their mother-daughter relationship, now caregiver-care resister, is fraught with all the unresolved complexities that the typical mother-daughter relationship entails. It is also a story of how the Mother sees the daughter when her role changes, in Mother's estimation, from daughter to dictator. In order for the reader to understand who this Mother is in her late nineties, and the circumstances that have shaped her life, the Mother's own prolific stories-candid and unfiltered and in her own voice-punctuates the daughter's narrative and reflections. You will laugh. You will cry. Your loyalties challenged and your thoughts about aging upended. TennyBoots lends a sympathetic, yet powerful voice to the caregivers toiling in the vineyard daily without complaint. The themes in this book are universal and ageless.

Judy and I: My Life with Judy Garland

The third of Judy Garland's five husbands, Sid Luft was the one man in her life who stuck around. He was chiefly responsible for the final act of Judy's meteoric comeback after she was unceremoniously booted off the MGM lot: he produced her iconic, Oscar-nominated vehicle A Star Is Born and expertly shaped her concert career. Previously unpublished, Sid Luft's intimate autobiography tells his and Judy's story in hard-boiled yet elegant prose. It begins on a fateful night in New York City when the not quite divorced Judy Garland and the not quite divorced Sid Luft meet at Billy Reed's Little Club and fall for each other. The romance lasted Judy's lifetime, despite the separations, the reconciliations, and the divorce. Under Luft's management, Judy came back bigger than ever, building a singing career that rivalled Sinatra's. However, her drug dependencies and suicidal tendencies put a tremendous strain on the relationship. Sid did not complete his memoir; it ended in 1960 after Judy hired David Begelman and Freddie Fields to manage her career. But Randy L. Schmidt, acclaimed editor of Judy Garland on Judy Garland and author of Little Girl Blue: The Life of Karen Carpenter, seamlessly pieced together the final section of the book from extensive interviews with Sid, most previously unpublished. Despite everything, Sid never stopped loving Judy and never forgave himself for not being able to ultimately save her from the demons that drove her to an early death at age forty-seven in 1969. Sid served as chief conservator of the Garland legacy until his death at the age of eighty-nine in 2005. This is his testament to the love of his life.

The most comprehensive survey to date of the legendary feminist artist Judy Chicago One of the most important contemporary American artists, Judy Chicago is known for multimedia works that embrace an explicitly feminist methodology. Accompanying a major retrospective at the New Museum, this book showcases Chicago’s tremendous impact on American art and presents the full breadth of her career across installation, sculpture, drawing, textiles, photography, stained glass, and printmaking. Featuring an extensive selection curated by Chicago of works by women artists across history, the book also highlights her critical role as an activist and cultural historian who has reshaped the canon. This dedicated section features Chicago’s ‘personal museum’ of women artists and historical figures whom she has placed within her own alternative canon, including Hilma af Klint, Simone de Beauvoir, Leonora Carrington, Elizabeth Catlett, Emily Dickinson, Barbara Hepworth, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, Virginia Woolf, and many others. The book presents works from across her sixty-year career, from her experiments with Minimalism to her revolutionary feminist artworks and her later works on themes of social inequity, environmentalism, and the construction of masculinity.
