A mystery of abuse and death weaved its way into the Libby, Montana, community in the late 1950's. Corporate abuse held community members captive as they breathed the poisonous air from the asbestos mining company. The Bowman family hid dark secrets of child abuse. The public school harbored a sexual abuser. And then there were the missing children. Who took the children? Why? What happened to them? The discovery of a child's body in a shallow grave had broader implications that the sheriff could understand. When Eric Bowman moved to Libby, he took a management position with the Zonolite Mining Company. He was also a positive influence within his father's family, becoming a caring brother to his three half-sisters. His work with the mining company revealed evidence that company managers knew the asbestos ore poisoned many of its miners, as well as consumers of the products made from the ore. But they did nothing that would interfere with the huge profits they were making. Eric's research put his life in jeopardy. No one had ever survived who took on this company in any way that would diminish the billions of dollars the owners were making. These interwoven threads of abuse unfolded in a community where death was given in exchange for a paycheck from the mining company, and where child physical and sexual abuse were as commonplace as the people who knew about it were willing to allow.

Sgt. Charles A.. Libby served as an M20 Command Car Driver in the 628th Tank Destroyer Battalion in the European Theater of Operations. Attached to General Patton, Sgt. Libby drove officers into battles like The Battle of The Bulge and The Battle of Hurtgen Forest as well as liberating cities all over Europe Growing up in a small town in Pennsylvania, Sgt. Libby spent his time swimming the waters of the Susquehanna River, climbing the tall mountains and hunting for the rich supply of game animals that live within the lush forests near his home of Williamsport, PA. A member of the CCC Camp in Benton, PA, young Charles Libby learned several trades and was inspired to join the military shortly after his stint in Camp Morton. His love for dancing started at a young age and still continues through today At 100 years old, Sgt. Libby is still very active, lives at home, drives a car and dances each and every week at a local hall with other seniors and veterans alike This follow up book to his first entitled "From The Command Car" is the perfect book-end to his blessed life and the stories that he shares with hundreds of people each month along with author and biographer, Steve Hunter. Stories of his childhood playing with friends, a Christian upbringing, joining the CCC Camps to aid in the financial burdens that his family felt during the Great Depression and finally going to war and meeting the destiny that would define him for his entire life. Returning home safe and sound without having sustained a war-type injury, taking German prisoners, liberating American POW's from the hands of the Nazis and stories of the men he served under and with, all enthrall readers and those who witness his personal speeches. A man that carried a Letter of Protection through the entire war also shares how he allowed others to copy it and keep it with them as a sign of their faith and their love for Jesus. His ministry still continues to this day as he passes out copies of the very same letter that he credits as helping him stay alive throughout the entire bloody war A must-read, Sgt. Libby - 100 Years of Stories, will be a book that will be looked at in another 100 years as bringing light on a subject of how these men and women lived and how they were known to be called "The Greatest Generation "

The Reminiscences of Vice Adm. Ruthven E. Libby, USN (Ret.)
Admiral Libby finished third in the Naval Academy's class of 1922, even though he attaches no great importance to the achievement in his oral history. Indeed, he is often overly modest during the course of this memoir. He hits only the highlights of his years as a junior officer. He served in destroyers and got postgraduate education in ordnance. The bulk of the transcript deals with Admiral Libby's service during World War II and the years immediately thereafter. He began the war on the immediate staff of Admiral Ernest J. King and provides insights into the admiral's personality. He then commanded Destroyer Squadron One and Destroyer Squadron 56 in the Aleutians and Central Pacific campaigns before returning to Washington to serve on the Joint War Plans Committee. After the war he commanded the heavy cruiser USS Bremerton (CA-130) and served on the staffs of Commander in Chief Pacific Fleet and Chief of Naval Operations. During the Korean War he commanded a division of heavy cruisers and then was on the team of U.S. negotiators which encountered a great deal of frustration in trying to deal with the North Koreans. During the mid-1950's he again served in OpNav and commanded the Atlantic Fleet Battleship-Cruiser Force. Prior to his retirement in 1960, he rounded out his career by serving as Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Plans and Policy) and as Commander First Fleet.

Collins IGCSE Spanish as a Foreign Language provides comprehensive coverage of the Cambridge IGCSE Spanish (0530) syllabus. With a clear structure and engaging content, the Student’s Book has been carefully planned around topic-based units so that language learning and skills development can be taught in real-world contexts. All four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) are fully covered in a skills-based communicative approach. Content is relevant to the age group and so provides engaging and motivating learning opportunities in real-world contexts. All topics, grammar and vocabulary are mapped to the syllabus, with clear learning objectives highlighted for each section of each unit. Units follow a carefully planned, consistent structure allowing for reinforcement and progression at every stage. The course caters for all levels of ability, including the needs of students with less experience of Spanish or those who need more support. Each unit starts with a Listo page to allow for revision and consolidation of earlier language learning. An Introductory unit also serves as a language refresher as well as being specifically designed to engage and enthuse students at the start of the course. The Student’s Book also offers opportunities for those looking for an extra level of challenge, with activities included to stretch higher-ability students. The layout of the book is clear and accessible, with boxed features highlighting key points of grammar, vocabulary or suggestions for taking things further. A checklist towards the end of the unit encourages students to reflect on their progress, and is followed by a useful vocabulary section for ease of reference. Each unit also includes an “El Mundo hispanohablante” spread which offers stimulating, thought-provoking and enjoyable insights into the culture and society of Hispanophone countries. Opportunity for practice, consolidation and revision is provided throughout the course, with exam-style questions in Listening and Reading included to help students develop their skills for success. Audio files are available as a free download from the Collins website for listening comprehension exercises and development of oral fluency. This resource supports both the IGCSE Spanish (0530) and and IGCSE (9-1) 7160 syllabuses. This title is endorsed by Cambridge Assessment International Education to support the full syllabus for first examination from 2021.
