Understanding the EU’s Norm and Policy Diffusion in ASEAN through Trade and Security Cooperation
This book examines the European Union’s (EU’s) norm and policy diffusion in relation to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).By looking at the EU’ engagement with ASEAN in trade and non-traditional security, the book analyzes the drivers, processes, and effectiveness of the EU’s norm and policy diffusion in ASEAN and explains the EU’s foreign policy and power projection in the context of its relationship with ASEAN. In doing so, it helps to advance knowledge about the EU’ external relations and power projection in relation to regional political entities beyond its immediate borders and affords firsthand empirical material on how the EU’s power in global politics is impacted by external perceptions and responses in different policy fields. This book will be of key interest to scholars, students, and practitioners of EU foreign policy, EU–SEAN relations, and ASEAN politics and more broadly to European Studies, Comparative Regionalism, Asian Studies, and International Relations

Constitutional Origin and Norm Creation in Colombia
This book explains the growing empowerment of the Colombian Constitutional Court in the early years of the 21st century and develops the concept of the deliberative judge.Taking the case of the Colombian Constitutional Court and drawing on neoinstitutional theory to explain the relationship between political crisis and institutional reforms, the book challenges the notion of rational choice institutionalism that agents act strategically. It indicates the limits of path dependence and argues instead that discursive institutionalism is the most appropriate method for analyzing processes of institutional learning. Combining theoretical and empirical research, it builds the argument that judicial independence promotes the case for deliberative democracy over rational choice or strategic action approaches. Finally, the book suggests that by introducing communicative and cognitive variables in our understanding of key actors and processes, we are more capable of bridging institutional origin and legacy. The work will be a valuable resource for academics, researchers, and policy-makers in Constitutional Law, Constitutional Politics, and Constitutional History.

Policy Transfer and Norm Circulation
Policy Transfer and Norm Circulation brings together various fields in the humanities and social sciences to propose a renewed analysis of policy transfer and norm circulation, by offering cross-regional case studies and providing both a comprehensive and innovative understanding of policy transfer. The book introduces a constructive interdisciplinary dialogue and comparative approach, highlighting the partial and fragmented understanding of policy transfer and the questions and challenges in the study of policy transfer in three parts. Firstly, notions of transfer and circulation, including law, (political) economy, sociology and history; secondly, a focus on European studies and the transfer of norms, both within and outside the EU; and finally, an examination within a broader IR context. Comics and Norm-Critical Pedagogy
Comics and Norm-Critical Pedagogy: Gender, Sexuality, and Cultural Identity explores how comics can challenge societal norms and serve as powerful tools for critical education. This edited collection brings together essays examining how graphic narratives question dominant perspectives on gender, sexuality, ethnicity, mental health, and other intersecting identity categories. It highlights how comics not only reflect but also disrupt normative worldviews, offering a unique lens for norm-critical pedagogy. Each chapter concludes with reflections on the pedagogical implications of its analysis, bridging theory and classroom practice. The volume also introduces norm-critical perspectives to English-speaking comics scholarship, expanding the conversation around how visual storytelling can foster critical awareness and social change. Comics and Norm-Critical Pedagogy: Gender, Sexuality, and Cultural Identity is ideal for graduate and postgraduate students, as well as researchers in comics studies, education, gender and sexuality studies, and the broader social sciences.
