Kidnapped and flown to a remote lodge in upstate Maine, high school seniors, Jed Romson and Elizabeth Sitton are stranded when their kidnapper crashes on takeoff. With thirty-five miles between them and the nearest hunting lodge, Jed knows it is up to him to care for a homesick city girl until someone finds them. Is he up to the task? “Call me if you need anything.” Jed shook his head. This was going to be interesting. Not only did he have to babysit a tenderfoot, he had to listen to her, too. Elizabeth, a city girl, has never been away from home, especially out in the wilderness with no amenities. Can she learn to cook on a wood stove or over an open fire? And what about wild animals? Wolves? Bears? Coyotes? Lizzie dropped into a deerskin-bound chair and buried her face in her hands. “I don’t think I can do this, Jed. I’m not cut out to be a Swiss Family Robinson character. I’m not an outdoorsy type of girl. This is all well and good for you, but you grew up with this stuff. I don’t have any idea what I’m doing.” Left with no clues, what will Detective Sarah Summers do to find the missing teens?

A beautiful hardcover Pocket Poets selection of the works of Alexander Pope, the greatest English poet of his age. Alexander Pope is one of the most-quoted poets in The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations; he is the source of such immortal gems as "Fools rush in where angels fear to tread," "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing," and "To err is human, to forgive, divine." Celebrated for his incisive satires, most famously "The Rape of the Lock" and "The Dunciad," and for his philosophical verse, including the monumental "An Essay on Man," Pope united irony and wit with deep insight into human nature. His moral vision clothed itself in unparalleled technical excellence; Pope perfected the form of the heroic couplet and gave us a translation of Homer that is a lasting work of art in its own right. This anthology presents a pocket-sized selection of the best work of this major poet.
The 1961 Seattle Mountaineers Summer Expedition to Mount Robson
In 2010, Buz Randall was working to preserve the photographs that he originally took during the 1961 Seattle Mountaineers Summer Expedition to Mount Robson. As Buz reorganized his color slides and made new electronic copies of images that were nearly 50 years old, he reminisced about his father, Al Randall, the interesting people who took part in the expedition, and the difficult climb that they were able to complete. In conjunction with more than forty color photographs, this book is a record of these important recollections and an exciting piece of mountaineering history associated with Mount Robson.

Mr. Coyote Visits the Robson Valley is a delightful adventure story for all ages, adapted from an old song, The Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night, made popular by Peter Spier's illustrated children's book. Motivated by the memory of her father singing the tune, but exchanging the fox for a coyote, author Sheilagh Foster has vividly brought to life Mr. Coyote's crafty and cunning quest to find a delectable feast for his hungry family. Traveling along the Fraser River from Mount Robson the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, will Mr. Coyote outwit farmer John Jack and secure the tasty meal? Sheilagh Foster grew up in the Rocky Mountain Trench, near McBride, B.C. Canada, where she currently resides. She is inspired by the people and picturesque mountain landscape near her home. By rewriting a favorite family song, Ms. Foster hopes that the tradition of singing to children is passed with love from generation to generation. She is working on her next book, a collection of stories about women in the Robson Valley. Publisher's website: http://sbpra.com/SheilaghFoster
