This book is the first biographical account of Sebastian Masuda written in English. Sebastian Masuda is a Japanese creator and artist who is globally known as the king of Japanese “Kawaii” (cute) subculture which originated in Harajuku. His continuous pursuit of the concept of kawaii is his lifetime passion and mission, and his work is always characterized by bright neon colors that led to the emergence of Decora fashion. He wears several hats in the field of fashion, art, and entertainment and uses colorful and kawaii elements as his creative foundation. He treats kawaii styles as explicit, non-violent forms of rebellion and resistance like many other youth subcultures in Japan that express themselves in unconventional fashion. One needs courage to walk down the street wearing bright, flashy clothes and accessories from head to toe. As an artist, Masuda has created prominent art pieces, such as a giant Hello Kitty sculpture in New York and a giant Doraemon statue made out of fluffy yarn in Singapore. As a designer, he has designed the décor of Kawaii Monster Café in Harajuku and Sushidelic, a sushi restaurant, in New York. He also runs a store, 6%DokiDoki, which has its own clothing line. As an entertainment producer, he has collaborated with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, a Japanese singer and pop culture icon, and produced her first music video. This book traces a strong impact of Masuda's difficult and lonely childhood and upbringing and complex family background on his creative endeavors that attract millions of youngsters that are also going through personal hardships. Masuda went through his teenage years spending time alone in the library reading books which made him observant and perceptive. This book also delves into his deep understanding of kawaii with intricate layers of interpretations which are often misunderstood and misconstrued as simply being cute, girlie, and infantile. Kawaii is not just an adjective but a lifestyle, philosophy, and ideology.

The electrifying thriller from the writers of BBC4 Swedish TV drama SEBASTIAN BERGMAN and the creator of the hugely successful series THE BRIDGE.
Written in an internal monologue style, driven by incessant denial of what has been said he developed in his 2011 story "Father," Yuriy Tarnawsky's The First-Person Dilogy mixes autobiographical data with fiction, to create a powerful, two-part music-like composition of syntax and semantics. The first novel, Sebastian in a Dream, was inspired by Georg Trakl's famous eponymous poem and is patterned on J. S. Bach's Goldberg Variations, consisting of thirty variations, preceded and followed by the same aria, and deals with a semi-comatose man expecting the arrival of his real or imaginary son. Its companion, The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, which is based on El Greco's masterpiece, also consists of thirty variations that roughly correspond to the thirty figures in the painting, describes a man who has come to die in the Spanish city of Toledo and visits each day the church in which the painting is housed, in order to see it.
A book for kids with one agnostic parent and one of faith. Many parents or extended families have different ideas about religion and faith. These numbers are growing. Most parents try to pull children towards their way of thinking, or never discuss the topic at all. Sebastian's Super Special Secret tells the story of a boy whose parents are open about their differences and demonstrate their individual ideas in caring and positive ways. Sebastian has a secret. He knows why they can talk about these differences with respect and remain close as a family. Author: Dr. Lois Nightingale is a licensed psychologist and a licensed Marriage, Family Therapist in practice in Yorba Linda, California. She has worked with families and children since 1982, helping them work through challenges and differences. It is her goal to help families live more peacefully and raise children who are accepting and self-confident. Her other self-help books are also available on Amazon.
Nine-year old Sebastian lives with his wealthy parents in an affluent area of the city and attends a private school. He enjoys board games, playing piano and mucking about in his best friend's tree house. But when the government abolishes private education, Sebastian is forced to go to a new and very different school where he just can't seem to fit in. His teacher and classmates have some peculiar ideas and are hell-bent on brainwashing his old values away and making him think like they do. He's determined not to give in, but it seems everyone around him has been indoctrinated - there's nowhere to turn. He can't just stand by and watch as the world changes around him, but the stakes are high - can one brave boy make a difference?
The war was now over. Though Hanna and Sebastian had no memories of their involvement in it, nor of the powers Hanna once wielded, their past was nothing but forgotten dreams, including their memories of each other. However, although their memories were gone, their hearts yearned and ached to be together.Hanna's pride got in the way of their happiness. Feeling undesired, Sebastian had to go away to rediscover himself. He spent three years in the city with hopes that Hanna would soon be a thing of the past, but his heart wouldn't let go; he needed her to feel whole.Hope's stories of their past lives were seen only as suppositions by both Hanna and Sebastian. However, Hope was determined to fight against all odds to ensure they end up together. Now that they were both ordinary, her duty, she thought, was simply to ensure that Hanna remained available should Sebastian return. All advice she gave landed on deaf ears and the price for disobedience will be paid in blood. Fortuitously, Hanna's powers began to re-emerge, but will it be enough to prevent an unavoidable catastrophe?
