Plejefamilier i Danmark udfører et fantastisk arbejde for en stor del af de 10.000 udsatte børn og unge, der er anbragt udenfor hjemmet. De engagerer sig og giver barnet den tryghed og støtte, der skal til, for at det kan udvikle tryghed, selvværd, få en god skolegang og på sigt klare sig godt i livet. Samtidig kan det være en stor udfordring at blive plejefamilie: Man fortsætter med at være en helt almindelig familie og bliver pludselig også en ”offentlig” familie, hvor lovgivning og samarbejde med forvaltning og forældre sætter rammerne. Plejefamilie - Gaver og opgaver kan bruges af plejeforældre som et opslagsværk, hvor man kan hente viden om de forskellige former for plejeforhold og blive klogere på hverdagens arbejde. Med de mange bidrag fra erfarne forskere, praktikere og plejefamilier kan bogen læses af professionelle, forskere og lovgivere samt anbragte børn og unge og deres forældre. Sproget er klart og enkelt. Vi håber, at vi med denne bog har givet flere familier lyst til at blive plejefamilie, og at nuværende plejefamilier vil få glæde af de forskellige perspektiver på livet som plejefamilie. Både de mange gaver, man får som plejefamilie, når man tager et nyt barn ind i familien, og de mange opgaver, som følger med.

Ingen enkelt indsats er tilstrækkelig til alle med en psykisk sygdom, og ingen enkelt faggruppe kan honorere alle de behov, der følger af de forskellige sygdomme. Men i forhold til alle sygdomme kan ergoterapeuter og fysioterapeuters indsats bidrage til den psykisk syges helbredelse eller bedring, i nogle tilfælde med afgørende betydning og i andre med et bidrag, hvis særskilte værdi er vanskelig at udskille fra andre faggruppers eller professioners. Denne bog er netop en lærebog for den ergoterapeut- og fysioterapeutstuderende. For uanset arbejdsfunktion og arbejdssted vil den færdiguddannede terapeut have brug for en grundlæggende viden om psykisk sygdom. Psykiatri er 2. udgave af Lærebog i psykiatri for ergoterapeuter og fysioterapeuter. Lærebogen har to hovedformål, nemlig en præsentation af den aktuelle viden om udredning, diagnostik og behandling/indsats ved de enkelte psykiske sygdomme, samt en tydeliggørelse af de metoder som det er relevant, at ergoterapeuter og fysioterapeuter anvender i udredning og indsats i mødet med mennesker med psykisk sygdom. På den måde sigter bogen efter at være den basisbog, hvorfra studerende får et første indtryk af psykisk sygdom og de arbejdsmetoder, man som ergoterapeut og fysioterapeut bringer i anvendelse. Denne nye udgave er gennemgående revideret både hvad angår struktur og indhold.

Als die Päpste im 13. Jahrhundert damit begannen, eine eigene weltliche Herrschaft in Mittelitalien zu errichten, sahen sie sich schnell mit einem spezifisch kommunalen Phänomen konfrontiert: Die Städte im Patrimonium Petri koordinierten ihre politischen, wirtschaftlichen und rechtlichen Beziehungen vornehmlich durch vertraglich gesicherte Bündnisse, societates in der Quellensprache. Die Studie analysiert erstmals die diplomatische Praxis, die rechtliche und schriftliche Ausgestaltung und die Umsetzung der über einhundert aus dem 13. Jahrhundert überlieferten kommunalen Bündnisse. Das Beispiel der umbrischen Stadt Perugia zeigt, welche Funktion die Verträge in der Politik einer Kommune einnehmen konnten, wie die societates auf regionaler Ebene wirkten und wie die Römische Kirche mit den Bündnissen umging, die teils toleriert, gefördert und für eigene Ziele genutzt, teils verboten und bekämpft wurden. Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich damit nicht nur mit einem bislang wenig beachteten Aspekt der Geschichte des mittelalterlichen Kirchenstaates, sondern fügt sich in neuere Forschungsdiskurse zur italienischen Kommune und zur Organisation von Herrschaft im Mittelalter ein.

Abel of Valaam, born in 1757, became a monk of the Russian Orthodox Church at the age of 28, and during a year-long isolation in the forest God bestowed on him a communication with the spirits knowing the future. They revealed to Abel events to occur in Russia beginning with Empress Catherine II the Great, and through the lives of all the subsequent Tsars to the Communist era, and to our contemporary Russia. Over his lifespan of 84 years, Abel spent about 30 years imprisoned as a result of announcing his prophecies to the rulers of Russia, but yet he also prophesied to every commoner who came to him sincerely for counsel.
