The medium of television, although a daily part of most modern lives, remains mysterious in the manner it may influence its audience. At the center of this mysery lies the debate of content vs. medium without regard to its content. This monograph presents new research in this debate by following up on a report of 570 adolescents studied as preschoolers and the long-term relationships between preschool television viewing and adolescent achievement, behavior, and attitudes. The results of the report provide stron support for content-based hypotheses then for theories emphasizing television as a medium. In an interesting twist, the results of the report trace a cognitive difference in the patterns of boys and girls and the way television influences them.

Big World, Small Screen assesses the influence of television on the lives of the most vulnerable and powerless in American society: children, ethnic and sexual minorities, and women. Many in these groups are addicted to television, although they are not the principal audiences sought by commercial TV distributors because they are not the most lucrative markets for advertisers. This important book illustrates the power of television in stereotyping the elderly, ethnic groups, gays and lesbians, and the institutionalized and, thus, in contributing to the self-image of many viewers. They go on to consider how television affects social interaction, intellectual functioning, emotional development, and attitudes (toward family life, sexuality, and mental and physical health, for example). They illustrate the medium's potential to teach and inform, to communicate across nations and cultures—and to induce violence, callousness, and amorality. In questo lavoro di ricerca stato condotto uno studio approfondito per ridurre la porosit che si verifica durante la pressofusione ad alta pressione. Per ridurre i difetti di porosit che si verificano durante il processo di colata stato utilizzato il software di ingegneria computerizzata ANASYS (15.0). La lettura, le dimensioni e le specifiche della camera di iniezione sono state prese da un impianto di lavorazione di pressofusione. L'obiettivo principale ridurre la porosit del prodotto finale, che in questo caso una struttura luminosa a LED da 100 watt. Le variazioni di pressione del flusso di metallo fuso sono state osservate all'interno della camera di iniezione, che stata modellata utilizzando ANSYS Fluent. emerso che quando la pressione del flusso di metallo fuso si riduce, anche la porosit tende a ridursi o a scomparire completamente. I test non distruttivi (NDT) sono il processo di ispezione, con l'aiuto dei test NDT possiamo trovare i difetti interni della colata e di qualsiasi altro prodotto, come il difetto di porosit . In questo lavoro di ricerca, per trovare la porosit minima, ci avvaliamo dei test NDT e della radiografia a raggi-X. Il test radiografico fa parte dell'NDT, quindi alla fine abbiamo ridotto la porosit .

Il presente lavoro esamina la letteratura per scoprire la biologia della CRP e il suo ruolo nell'aterosclerosi, la qualit del livello di hs-CRP come biomarcatore di rischio, l'uso della hs-CRP come strumento per iniziare la terapia con statine nella CVD e comprendere meglio l'applicazione della proteina C-reattiva ad alta sensibilit (hs-CRP) nella pratica clinica. Abbiamo evidenziato le raccomandazioni delle societ e le considerazioni importanti sull'uso della hs-CRP per guidare le decisioni terapeutiche nella prevenzione delle CVD.
