Alexandru D. Xenopol and the Development of Romanian Historiography
Despite the criticism of his peers and the inattention of his successors, Alexandru Xenopol provided Romanian nationalistic historiography with a greater measure of respectability, especially with the general public. By the time of WWI a strong sense of national identity had become entrenched as an intellectually respectable mentality among Romania’s literate classes. This book examines Xenopol’s participation in the creation of this mentality in Romania during decades that were crucial to the development of institutionalized intellectual life and and educted behaviour in that country.

Far from home... Alexandru Carson has a major problem and it isn't with the woman who captured him - it is the fact that he can't remember anything but his name. He doesn't know where he is or how he ended up in the middle of a forest that feels bizarrely alien to him. If being lost wasn't bad enough, his fascination with and attraction to his captor is making the situation worse, yes definitely worse - or maybe a whole lot better.... It's hard to tell. Ka'ya Stargazer is an outcast among her tribe. Born with the mark of the Huntress, she is bound to service and leadership, and she inspires fear and awe in equal measure. She is physically more capable than anyone she has ever met, but she is powerless against the man who holds her family. When she discovers an injured man on a scouting trip, however, Ka'ya makes a decision that will change her life forever. Internationally acclaimed S.E. Smith presents a new action-packed story full of adventure and romance. Brimming with her signature humor, vivid scenes, and beloved characters, this book is sure to be another fan favorite Main Content: 129 (6x9) pages, 40,647 words

Macedonski's work, considered a replica of Eminescu's, attracts attention for its complexity and originality. The study aims to highlight the fact that the island and sea of Eminescu's "Cezara" and Macedonski's "Thalassa", in addition to their meanings, structures and concrete contextual functions, acquire new valences, becoming spaces of eros and/or thanatos. Decoratively speaking, the Isle of Snakes ("Thalassa") is an arid island, while the Isle of Euthanasius ("Cezara") contains lush vegetation. "Thalassa" is a short story built around a pagan myth, and has a closed ending. "Cezara", on the other hand, conceived around a Judeo-Christian myth, is a short story with an open ending. As we go through the works, we notice the unity in diversity, the genius of Eminescu and the talent of Macedonski.

Mathematical and numerical modelling of engineering problems in medicine is aimed at unveiling and understanding multidisciplinary interactions and processes and providing insights useful to clinical care and technology advances for better medical equipment and systems. When modelling medical problems, the engineer is confronted with multidisciplinary problems of electromagnetism, heat and mass transfer, and structural mechanics with, possibly, different time and space scales, which may raise concerns in formulating consistent, solvable mathematical models. Computational Medical Engineering presents a number of engineering for medicine problems that may be encountered in medical physics, procedures, diagnosis and monitoring techniques, including electrical activity of the heart, hemodynamic activity monitoring, magnetic drug targeting, bioheat models and thermography, RF and microwave hyperthermia, ablation, EMF dosimetry, and bioimpedance methods. The authors discuss the core approach methodology to pose and solve different problems of medical engineering, including essentials of mathematical modelling (e.g., criteria for well-posed problems); physics scaling (homogenization techniques); Constructal Law criteria in morphing shape and structure of systems with internal flows; computational domain construction (CAD and, or reconstruction techniques based on medical images); numerical modelling issues, and validation techniques used to ascertain numerical simulation results. In addition, new ideas and venues to investigate and understand finer scale models and merge them into continuous media medical physics are provided as case studies.
