Born from an actual conversation between the author and her son, this amazingly illustrated picture book paints a beautiful picture of diversity by exploring the abundance of color in God's creation; showing that differences in our skin color was part of His perfect plan from the beginning of time. Told brilliantly in unconventional rhyme, a beautiful and delicious discussion ensues as the boy and his mother explore the world of color in nature, as well as sweet treats such as caramel, toffee, macaroons, and honey. Which one will you be?This book celebrates the fact that we are all created equally, wonderfully made, and an absolute reflection of the perfect God who designed us. "No matter the color, no matter the shade, EVERY. SINGLE. LIFE. GOD. HAS. MADE."

Age is a critical issue for labour market policy. Both younger and older workers experience significant challenges at work. Despite the introduction of age discrimination laws, ageism remains prevalent. Reforming Age Discrimination Law offers a roadmap for the future development of age discrimination law in common law countries, to better address workplace ageism. Drawing on theoretical, doctrinal, and empirical legal scholarship, and comparative perspectives from the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, the book provides a socio-legal critique of existing age discrimination laws and their enforcement and proposes concrete suggestions for legal reform and change. Building on legal and interdisciplinary insights, it examines the challenges and limitations of existing legal frameworks and the individual enforcement model for addressing age discrimination in employment. It also maps the stages of claiming, negotiation, or alternative dispute resolution, and hearing and judgment, using mixed-method case studies of the enforcement of age discrimination law in the United Kingdom and Australia. This volume puts forward a four-fold model of reform which aims to improve the individual enforcement model, strengthen positive equality duties, bolster the roles of statutory equality agencies, and enhance collective enforcement. It goes on to critically consider how these options might address the limits of existing laws, and the practical measures necessary to ensure their success and to move beyond the individual enforcement of age discrimination law.

Within the broader context of the Anthropology of Craft, this volume examines ancient glass-workers at the site of Sepphoris, in northern Israel. By drawing upon the knowledge and experience of current Middle-Eastern glass-workers to interpret the artifacts excavated at the site, Fischer is able to create a picture of the life and work of craftspeople living 1500 years ago. Firmly based in anthropological archaeology and ethnoarchaeology, Hot Pursuit incorporates methods drawn from the four fields of anthropology and calls for more integration among the sub-fields.
I Have This Thing for Flowers: Essays on the Roots of Relationships
A story of love, marriage, and flowers from beloved writer and gardening enthusiast Alysia Li Ying Sawchyn It begins with an ending. Six months before they were to be married, Alysia Li Ying Sawchyn's fianc e broke off their engagement, leaving her stunned and reeling. Looking for stability -- and health insurance -- she married a friend instead. Then, while sharing a home and tending to a garden together, the marriage of convenience turned into a marriage of love. In science, art, and mythology, we cannot help but to see flowers as metaphors for the fleeting nature of youth, vitality, and love. While it's easy to casually admire something beautiful, it requires a closer look to appreciate the effort that produces that beauty. In I Have This Thing For Flowers, Sawchyn does just that, likening the many flowers she has grown in her garden to a range of relationships and activities from motherhood to ex-boyfriends to Greek mythology. Cataloguing all of the great romances of her life like an herbarium of flowers preserved from the garden, Sawchyn examines the kinds of love that can't be explained.

What can developments in contemporary linguistics and language theory reveal about Shakespeare’s language in the plays? Shakespeare’s Common Language demonstrates how methods borrowed from language criticism can illuminate the surprising expressive force of Shakespeare’s common words. With chapters focused on different approaches based in language theory, the book analyses language change in Coriolanus; discourse analysis in Troilus and Cressida; pragmatics in Richard II; and various aspects of grammar in As You Like It. In mapping the tools of linguistics and language theory onto the study of literature, and employing finely-grained close readings of dialogue, Shakespeare’s Common Language frames a methodology that offers a fresh approach to reading dramatic language.
