Die zerebrale Malaria umfasst die klinischen Reflexe der Plasmodium falciparum Malaria, die Ver nderungen des mentalen Status und manchmal ein Koma verursacht. Es ist eine intensive Erkrankung des Gehirns, die ringf rmige L sionen im Gehirn verursacht, begleitet von Fieber. Der Patient sollte so fr h wie m glich behandelt werden, da die zerebrale Malaria innerhalb von 24-72 Stunden t dlich verl uft. f-MWCNTS bieten somit eine bessere Plattform, um bioaktive Substanzen vor dem Abbau im endosomalen Milieu zu sch tzen und somit eine bessere intrazellul re bioaktive Wirksamkeit zu erzielen. Die Funktionalisierung von MWCNTs verbessert deren Wirksamkeit aufgrund ihrer erh hten Internalisierungskapazit t oder f r eine effiziente intrazellul re Aufnahme, vis-a-vis der Erh hung ihrer Dispergierbarkeit. Artesunat konnte sowohl in die gereinigten als auch in die verschiedenen funktionalisierten MWCNTs erfolgreich geladen werden. Mannose-konjugierte MWCNTs zeigen die h chste Entrapment-Effizienz und nachhaltige Freisetzung. Die Mannosylierung verbesserte die Dispergierbarkeit der MWCNTs in w ssrigen L sungsmitteln und diese k nnen f r die Verabreichung verschiedener bioaktiver Stoffe sowie aktiver Liganden (Mannose) entwickelt werden, die auf das Gehirngewebe abzielen.
