In a world where threats of cataclysmic extinction loom and sustainable harvest approaches are essential, applied population ecology has never been more crucial. Conservation of Wildlife Populations, 3rd Edition provides evidence-based insight into how extinctions and human-wildlife conflicts can be minimized. L. Scott Mills, Andrew Whiteley, and Mahdieh Tourani blend rigorous science with practical solutions to illuminate paths where science and action can bring hope. Thoroughly updated since the second edition, Conservation of Wildlife Populations bridges the full scope of applied wildlife population ecology, spanning conservation and wildlife biology, ecology, conservation genetics, evolutionary biology, and environmental studies. This new edition includes updated references and expanded global case studies based on both terrestrial and aquatic wildlife species. With an engaging writing style and real-world examples, this 3rd edition shows how a broad range of practical ecological and evolutionary principles can lead to efficient and sometimes non-intuitive conservation management in a rapidly changing world. Engaging and approachable, yet thorough and solutions-oriented, this is a must-read book for students and practitioners in ecology, wildlife biology, and conservation genetics. Undergraduate and postgraduate students will be equipped to advance conservation management and research, while field practitioners will find the scientific basis for making efficient and effective conservation decisions.

Love?Love can be a lot of things, not all of them good. Sometimes worms get into a person's heart and breed destruction, and then love, as they experience it, becomes cruel and polluted. WHAT THEN DEFINES A LOVE STORY? Here are stories of love gone wrong, love when its HATE, love when it's LOATHING, MISOGYNY, NARCISSISM, and GREED. These are SEX stories, HORROR stories, violent little terrors of the heart where all ties are severed and the relationships you thought you believed in crumble. This is where love and wickedness coalesce. ANDREA, romance redefined in a bitter new light.
We are in the early years of the 22nd century. Henry Phillips employs Andrea to do his housework. Andrea is an unusually clever android. She is also very beautiful. She is willing to go to any lengths to become an ordinary wife and mother. And as it happens, her efforts are good for everyone else too.
I met Andrea Altiery in 1981; the first thing she asked was, "Do you like the rock band Aerosmith?" I responded, "Yes." She smiled and slapped me on my left shoulder telling me, "Dream on my friend." Later that year Andrea was taken from us by the most notorious serial killer to ever hunt in the state of Alaska. Get ready to collectively ride an emotional ride through urban Alaska while looking through a steamy window for lost love; love that's never found and love that maybe never was. I can only imagine the helplessness; the complete feeling of being alone these women had; Andrea must have had, preyed upon all of their spirit's gathering together now. Victims of circumstance; none of these women deserved to be mistreated like Andrea; dehumanized, erased from our minds. One last chance to give Andrea a voice, each woman asking us can you hear me, do you see me now?
