The literary adventure of D.A.F. (1740-1814) is unique and paradoxical. He was widely read in the nineteenth century, but his books disappeared almost completely from circulation in the century. Meanwhile the exegesis of Sade poured from the presses of the Western world in a flood of words in which the writer, the novelist, and the exceptional pet disappeared. In France today, J. J. Pauvert, who considers Sade "the greatest French writer," is publishing a new edition of the complete works with a new introduction by Annie Le Brun. Sade: A Sudden Abyss is the translation of this introduction, which shows Sade as the inventor of an entirely new language through which he fathoms human nature, desire, and relationships of power. In this fresh and authoritative survey of Sade's work as a whole, Le Brun frees it from such critics as Bataille, Blanchot, Klossowski, and Barthes (who see Sade's language as a metaphor for history, society, or writing itself). She asks, Where is Sade himself in these texts? What exactly does Sade tell us? What is obscured when Sade's writing is placed in a "universe of discourse" rather than understood as a manifestation of a life spent in eleven prisons over twenty-seven years? Like a powerful laser beam, her reflections cut through two centuries of intellectual hide-and-seek and let Sade for the first time be seen and read in his own light. Annie Le Brun is a French poet and literary theorist. Her books include Lachez tout, a critique of the French neofeminist movement; A distance; and Les chateaux de la subversion, a study of the Gothic tradition.
What underlies the many problems of the modern world - from accelerating rates of extinction and desertification, to the increased alienation of the individual - is a reality overload, an increasingly invasive mechanisation and homogenisation of modern life that glorifies consumption and conformity. This overload has been created from the constant force-feeding of too much information, a phenomenon that dispossesses us of our deepest connections to time, our physical world and each other.Annie Le Brun explains that the degradation of the environment mirrors the devastation going on in our minds revealing a link between genetically modified foods and the transformation and decay of our language and communication. There is a direct relationship between the rupture of the great biological balances that govern the planet and the equally devastating rupture in our imaginal realm. The imaginal realm is the home of our dreams and the perceptions that feed our thoughts, individuality and creativity. Without its influence we are forced to live a drab, alienated lifestyle based on consumption alone. If, as Shakespeare claims, we are such stuff as dreams are made on, this theft of our imagination by the reality overload threatens the very foundations of our existence.*Shows how the constant force-feeding of too much information dispossesses us of our deepest connections*Describes a link between the destruction of the environment with the assault on our individuality, creativity and ability to think for ourselves

The Sacred Sex Rites of Ishtar lays out in detail how shamanic sex has been used, throughout history, to prepare pharaohs, kings, tsars and sultans for Sovereignty. It is a spiritual technique that leads alchemically to a superior intelligence and self-empowerment, which is a direct result of interacting with beings who inhabit a parallel universe to this one - another dimension - from whom man has traditionally gained his knowledge about his place and purpose on Earth and in the cosmos. In ancient times, the ability to tap into this superior wisdom through sacred sex magic was transmitted to rulers by a cuen or hierodule, one who was in touch with these extra-dimensional beings or life forms also known as the spirits. It was understood by the wise sages of ancient times that Sovereignty is an actual magical force that arises from the spirits of the land, otherwise known as the Fae, the Gentry, the Sidhe or the Faeries, who are of an Elder and wiser race which inhabits a timeless zone within the parallel dimensions. So the ignition of this shamanic force gave the rulers of antiquity the power of Sovereignty over the land through firing up their higher brain centres, leading to the generation of wisdom and enlightenment and thus the ability and the right to reign. In this book, you will also learn how to benefit from sacred shamanic sex today. The cuen did not need to wear a crown on her head because she was already Bright-browed; her inner crown was already sparkling with the gold of the Sun making love with the diamond light of the Moon. Nor she did not require any anointing from the Archbishop of Canterbury because her innermost elixirs were already flowing like honeyed nectars throughout her whole being. The cuen was a shaman-type skilled in evoking and awakening the two energetic serpents which, during sexual intercourse, would rise and interweave up through the human body, just as they do on a caduceus, to create the Marriage of the Sun and the Moon. These two serpents were known to those who practised the Indian form of the rite, known as tantra, as Ida and Pingala. The ancient Egyptians believed that one serpent was black and the other gold. Sacred sex rites were what inspired the erotic poetry of the Sumerians and Babylonians, and the Song of Solomon in the Old Testament. Whatever the different names and belief systems that used such diverse imagery to describe this process, it is important to realise it is not an imaginary visualisation but a real physiological experience in which the Other Worlds break through into this one, and it is still practised today. As a shaman and mythologist, Annie Dieu-Le-Veut is in regular communion with the spirits of the Land. In this second edition The Sacred Sex Rites of Ishtar , originally published five years ago, she lays out a way for the spiritual seeker to learn how to visit these other dimensions, so that they can learn about sex magic from their own spirit guides. She gently guides the reader, first by helping them to form their own the cognitive foundation stone for this practice by learning about the evidence - from ancient Greece, Egypt, Crete, India, Sumer and Babylon - that shows sacred sex was once an integral part of kingship rites. She also explains the meaning of the Faery Marriage, known to alchemists as the Marriage of the Sun and the Moon, which finds it resonance in Christian mysticism and the stories about the Holy Grail. And finally Annie shows you how to practice these simple techniques yourself, in order to walk the well-trodden, ancient path towards enlightenment in your own life today.
In just seven words, what will you learn from Stories in the Stars? How to reincarnate into your own life. Ancient myths are actually the vessels or arks of our ancestors sailing the seas of Time and containing, deep in their submarinal holds, precious messages about our innate holographic relationship to eternal astrological and alchemical cycles which drive each of us along our life's path. Over thousands of years, these orally-transmitted wisdom teaching stories have been twisted and bastardised into fake histories in order to serve various and changing political imperatives. And they have been concertinaed, truncated and dumbed-down to satisfy the appetites of light entertainment through the shifting narratives, over time, of the mytho-industrial complex. Annie Dieu-Le-Veut is a story archaeologist who digs up the originals of these epic tales that were drawn in the glittering night skies of the last Ice Age. She brushes them off and then breaks down their meanings in the simplest of terms, so that we can unlock the doors of our perception with their metaphorical keys. Once we understand the substance of the messages our ancestors left for us thousands of years ago, we realise the value and meaning of human life and finally know what to do with it.
Sorrowful and raw, The Absence of You is a poetry collection that explores themes of mental health, grief, self-abandonment, and loneliness. These poems are for those who know what it means to be unwell and for those who feel lost.
In All My Salt propels the reader through the examinations of the after-effects of abuse, the hardness of trauma, and the difficulties of ill-fated relationships. This poetry collection is sharp and biting, angry and raw, and unrelenting in its unflinching honesty. In All My Salt is a deeply personal collection written by a poet who gives voice to her hardness and experiences that emerge from trauma.
