Elizabeth Wydeville, Queen consort to Edward IV, has traditionally been portrayed as a scheming opportunist. But was she a cunning vixen or a tragic wife and mother? As this extraordinary biography shows, the first queen to bear the name Elizabeth lived a life of tragedy, love, and loss that no other queen has since endured. This shocking revelation about the survival of one woman through vilification and adversity shows Elizabeth as a beautiful and adored wife, distraught mother of the two lost Princes in the Tower, an and innocent queen slandered by politicians.

This book is dedicated to my husband, Steve. Without his love, support, and unlimited help, I would not have been able to give my mom the care she so deserved. I thank him from the bottom of my heart.

On May 31st 2007, Arlene Walsh was killed in a car accident in a remote area of northeast New Mexico. She was 71-years-old. At the time of her death, she had been a semi-retired kindergarten teacher, student pilot, and the president of her local chapter of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). She had also helped found a local chapter of the Ninety-Nines, the International Organization of Woman Pilots in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she lived. She left behind three grown children, four grandchildren, two cats, two pet snakes, and a half-built biplane that had been under construction bit-by-bit for years. She also left behind a manuscript for a book on which she had been working, The Sky's The Limit, about being an older woman fulfilling her dream of learning to fly. The Sky's The Limit was not only incomplete but also in very rough draft form. It was not the only manuscript that Arlene left behind either. Arlene's Book is a compilation of the The Sky's The limit with two earlier, more complete manuscripts that she wrote about different parts of her life. Pot Roast on the Ceiling is a series of remembrances of her girlhood in Connecticut, and Door to the Rainbow chronicles one year of her life teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in rural New Mexico. Together, these three manuscripts form a memoir of an independently-minded, talented woman who passionately followed her dreams.

Join Miss Arlene, math expert, founder of the viral @silentmath on TikTok, and member of American Mensa, on a journey through the forest in Counting to 100. As she explores the lush, green forest, Miss Arlene encounters all sorts of wildlife and plants--from chirping birds and busy squirrels to blooming flowers and towering trees. Along the way, she teaches young readers to count from 1 to 100, making numbers come alive with each discovery. This charming adventure not only introduces children to the wonders of nature, but also turns counting into a fun and engaging experience. Perfect for little explorers eager to learn their numbers while enjoying the beauty of the great outdoors Teaching Methods: Parents, here are three teaching methods you can use at home to help your child learn to count. 1. Count with Everyday Activities: Integrate counting into daily routines, such as counting the number of toys being put away during clean-up time, the number of grapes in a bowl, or the steps from the kitchen to the living room.2. Use of a Counting Jar: Fill a jar with small items like coins or buttons and have your child count them one-by-one as they take them out or put them in. You may do this gradually until they reach 100.3. Review the Numbers Page in this Book: Count numbers 1 to 100 on the numbers page I even included the spelling of each number so your child can learn that, too. For an added challenge, have your child count by 2's, 5's, 10's, and 20's to reach to 100

In a palette of blues, greens, pinks and purples, Shechet’s metal sculptures physically and conceptually expand her playful work with ceramics Published in conjunction with her exhibition of the same title, Girl Group brings together New York–born and –based artist Arlene Shechet’s (born 1951) recent work in wood, steel, ceramic, paper and bronze with six new monumental sculptures created for the expansive grounds of Storm King Art Center in New Windsor, New York. The exhibition centers on the translation of Shechet’s lyrical ceramics into the six robust, large-scale painted metal sculptures, an ambitious new body of work that expands upon the artist’s intuitive and handmade approach. Through her signature emphasis on process and improvisation, Shechet harnesses the expressive power of geometry, line, color and form in works displayed across Storm King’s hills, fields and galleries. Stunningly designed, this book features raw edges on boards with a flush trim, and captures Shechet’s practice through vibrant fabrication and installation photography, This book was published in conjunction with Storm King Art Center
Arlene Shechet: Skirts
On Arlene Shechet’s latest idiosyncratic and playful sculptures This volume brings together more than a dozen of New York–based artist Arlene Shechet’s (born 1951) most recent sculptures, colorful engrossing assemblages in wood, clay and bronze, include large-scale works and a monumental outdoor piece. Though her works appear effortless and forgiving of imperfections, they are the products of an intuitive and technically fastidious approach, involving casting, painting, firing, carving, stacking, undoing and redoing with no predetermined endpoint. This exhibition catalog illustrates each work in the show in detail and includes installation images that walk the reader through the exhibition. Utilizing a word that is both verb and a noun, Shechet reclaims misogynist slang. As if to counter this term’s reduction of women to passive things, Shechet’s unruly polymorphous sculptures suggest that objects themselves are active and subversive. This volume features a new essay by scholar Rachel Silveri and interviews with the artist.
