A collection of 22 poems, and 24 visionary mandalas and watercolors.Augusta was born in 1922 in Arnhem, The Netherlands, where part of her childhood was overshadowed by the Nazi occupation. She moved to the United States at age 21, and the San Francisco Bay area became her new home. Always an artist, Augusta received her MA in Design from the University California, Berkeley, and along with engaging in her own varied and unique creations, she worked as a teacher of young children and as a scientific illustrator at UC Berkeley. In her thirties she entered the Peace Corps and spent three deeply fulfilling years in Africa, in both Ivory Coast and Niger. On returning to California, she continued her creative work, including doing art therapy with hospice patients at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. At age 77, Augusta moved to Ashland, Oregon, where with the support and encouragement of her brother Sypko Andreae and her sister-in-law Carolyn Shaffer, she was able to devote her time to her favorite art, creating visionary mandalas.

Eine der Umweltauswirkungen einer schlecht geplanten Urbanisierung ist die Verringerung der Gr nfl chen in st dtischen Zentren. Das Gr ndach wurde als eine der Alternativen zur Verringerung dieser negativen Umweltauswirkungen vorgestellt. Doch was sind die Vor- und Nachteile einer Dachbegr nung? Obwohl dieser Technik in den letzten Jahren mehr Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wurde, gibt es immer noch wenige wissenschaftliche Studien, die quantitative und qualitative Daten zu diesem Thema liefern. In dieser Arbeit wird eine vollst ndig angewandte Fallstudie vorgestellt, in der die Auswirkungen eines begr nten Daches auf die Schwankungen der Innentemperaturen in einer speziell f r diesen Zweck konzipierten Umgebung berpr ft werden. Ein zweiter Prototyp, der mit dem ersten identisch ist, erh lt keine Dachbegr nung und seine Temperaturen werden gleichzeitig berwacht, um einen Vergleich auf der Grundlage experimenteller Daten zu erm glichen.

One of the environmental impacts of poorly planned urbanisation is the reduction of green areas in urban centres. The green roof has been presented as one of the alternatives for reducing this negative environmental impact. But what are the advantages and disadvantages of implementing a green roof? Although this technique has received more attention in recent years, there are still few scientific studies that present quantitative and qualitative data on the subject. This work presents a fully applied case study, verifying the impact of a green roof on the variation of internal temperatures in an environment designed specifically for this purpose. A second prototype, identical to the first, does not receive the green roof and has its temperatures monitored simultaneously, allowing a comparison based on experimental data.

Uno degli impatti ambientali di un'urbanizzazione mal pianificata la riduzione delle aree verdi nei centri urbani. Il tetto verde stato presentato come una delle alternative per ridurre questo impatto ambientale negativo. Ma quali sono i vantaggi e gli svantaggi dell'implementazione di un tetto verde? Sebbene questa tecnica abbia ricevuto maggiore attenzione negli ultimi anni, sono ancora pochi gli studi scientifici che presentano dati quantitativi e qualitativi sull'argomento. Questo lavoro presenta un caso di studio completamente applicato, verificando l'impatto di un tetto verde sulla variazione delle temperature interne in un ambiente progettato appositamente per questo scopo. Un secondo prototipo, identico al primo, non riceve il tetto verde e ne monitora contemporaneamente le temperature, consentendo un confronto basato su dati sperimentali.

Chociaż w ostatnich latach technika ta zyskala większą uwagę, nadal istnieje niewiele badań naukowych, kt re przedstawiają dane ilościowe i jakościowe na ten temat. Niniejsza praca przedstawia w pelni zastosowane studium przypadku, weryfikujące wplyw zielonego dachu na zmiennośc temperatur wewnętrznych w środowisku zaprojektowanym specjalnie do tego celu. Drugi prototyp, identyczny z pierwszym, nie otrzymal zielonego dachu, a jego temperatura byla monitorowana jednocześnie, umożliwiając por wnanie w oparciu o dane eksperymentalne.
