Bärbel Thoelke's life's work in filigree porcelain. A finely-balanced book that includes both traditional manufacturers and one-offs. The life's work of the Berlin-born porcelain designer Bärbel Thoelke unites the strictest design discipline with creative imaginings to make a superb, coherent and, in her own way, unique oeuvre in contemporary German studio porcelain. Thoelke's output is characterised by a consistent concentration on the vessel and encompasses not only studio series but also one-off vessels. At the same time, she works with such traditional manufacturers as KPM, the State Porcelain Manufactory Meissen, the Schwarzburger Werkstätten fur Porzellankunst and the Viennese porcelain manufacturer Augarten. Her mantra: ' to realise my very personal ideas of an object that one would like to live with every day, and which is perhaps only troubling when it is not there'. Text in German.

This is Volume XXII of thirty-two on a series of Developmental Psychology. Originally published in 1958, this text offers a translation from French of an essay on the construction of formal operational structures to explain part of the growth of logic in a child's brain and development. It looks at propositional logic, the integration of formal thought and the operational schemata of formal logic.
Anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions do not only warm our planet but also acidify our oceans. It is currently unclear to which degree Earth’s climate and marine life will be impacted by these changes but information from Earth history, particularly the geochemical signals of past environmental changes stored in the fossil remains of marine organisms, can help us predict possible future changes. This book aims to be a primer for scientists who seek to apply boron proxies in marine carbonates to estimate past seawater carbonate chemistry and atmospheric pCO2. Boron proxies (d11B and B/Ca) were introduced nearly three decades ago, with subsequent strides being made in understanding their mechanistic functioning. This text reviews current knowledge about the aqueous systematics, the inorganic and biological controls on boron isotope fractionation and incorporation into marine carbonates, as well as the analytical techniques for measurement of boron proxies. Laboratory and field calibrations of the boron proxies are summarized, and similarities between modern calibrations are explored to suggest estimates for proxy sensitivities in marine calcifiers that are now extinct. Example applications illustrate the potential for reconstructing paleo-atmospheric pCO2 from boron isotopes. Also explored are the sensitivity of paleo-ocean acidity and pCO2 reconstructions to boron isotope proxy systematics that are currently less well understood, including the elemental and boron isotopic composition of seawater through time, seawater alkalinity, temperature and salinity, and their collective impact on the uncertainty of paleo-reconstructions. The B/Ca proxy is based on the same mechanistic principles as the boron isotope proxy, but empirical calibrations suggest seawater pH is not the only controlling factor. B/Ca therefore has the potential to provide a second carbonate parameter that could be paired with d11B to fully constrain the ocean carbonate system, but the associated uncertainties are large. This text reviews and examines what is currently known about the B/Ca proxy systematics. As more scientists embark on characterizing past ocean acidity and atmospheric pCO2, Boron in Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology provides a resource to introduce geoscientists to the opportunities and complications of boron proxies, including potential avenues to further refine them.
Bestselling author Barbel Mohr's books have sold over a million copies worldwide. She is the creator of the 'Cosmic Ordering' technique and author of the original book which Noel Edmonds credits with changing his life and dramatically improving his fortunes. You can work on changing your thoughts, but if you don't change the way that you feel about things nothing will improve. In this fascinating and accessible book Barbel and her husband Manfred Mohr explain how to use the power of your emotions to attract to yourself the life you dream of, but didn't feel was possible.
Bestselling author Barbel Mohr's books have sold over a million copies worldwide. She is the creator of the Cosmic Ordering technique and author of the original book which introduced to the world this powerful way to tune into the universe and manifest all the things that you truly desire. In her final book, The Miracle of Self-Love, she goes one step further and explains that love, friendship or wealth can only become a permanent fixture in your life once you have first learned to truly love yourself. After years of experience working with seminar participants, it was clear to Barbel that the universe can only work its magic if we are feeling love and appreciation for ourselves, as well as for others. With numerous practical tools, including self-love mantras and visualization exercises, this book teaches you how to cultivate a fundamentally positive and loving relationship with yourself so that you can know the miracle of self love, and the abundance of joy that it will bring to your life.
Cosmic Ordering is the powerful method of tuning into the Universe to turn dreams into reality. This title explains Ho'oponopono, a Hawaiian technique stemming from the belief that everything in the universe is interconnected. It shows that the only thing that stops you from achieving anything you desire is your own imagination.
This beautiful, inspirational diary builds on the success of ‘Cosmic Ordering for Beginners’ and provides people with the daily inspiration and keys that they need to bring their wishes and dreams into reality. Each day has an inspirational thought or instruction and Barbel has marked times in the diary when she will be tuning in with people and helping them bring positive transformation into their lives.
Now an internationally acclaimed author, Barbel Mohr introduced the world to Cosmic Ordering by writing a little book about this amazing method and circulating photocopies amongst her friends. The book went on to become an international bestseller and since then she has written a collection of powerful books to help us understand exactly how to tune into the Universe to turn our dreams into reality. In this new book, Barbel captures the essence of all of her previous titles on Cosmic Ordering to provide you with 21 Golden Rules that allow you to master the concept that seems too good to be true - but nonetheless works. Barbel has condensed the key ideas and principles of Cosmic Ordering to help you appreciate the rules that govern the cosmos and the part that your subconcious mind plays in creating your reality. How do children learn and how are new modes of thought developed? These questions have for years been of paramount interest to psychologists and others concerned with the cognitive development of the child. In this major work, originally published in 1974 and reporting on over ten years’ research of the Geneva School, the authors carried the pioneering investigations of Jean Piaget to a new and remarkable level. As Piaget said in his foreword to the book: ‘The novelty of the findings, the clarity of the theoretical interpretation, and the sometimes even excessive caution of the conclusions enable the reader to separate clearly the experimental results from the authors’ theoretical tenets.’The authors’ learning experiments with children were designed to examine the processes that lead to the acquisition of certain key concepts, such as conservation of matter and length. Detailed study of the progress of each individual subject revealed a number of features characteristic of situations that create conflicts in the child’s mind and certain regularities in the way these conflicts are resolved. Such data threw new light on the dynamics of the development of cognitive structures as well as on basic mechanisms of learning at the time.
