Författaren var under åren 1959-79 anställd i olika rederier och började sin sjömansbana som mässuppassare i Svenska Ostasiatiska Kompaniets motortanker Hong Kong. Arbetet i köksregionerna varade inte länge och redan efter några månader mönstrade han ner i maskin. Efter tio år som motorman i oceangående fartyg och studier vid Sjöbefälsskolan i Malmö, tog han 1973 anställning som maskinist i Salenrederierna. En tidigare olycka i tankbåten Erato fick oväntat svåra följder och 1979 tvingades författaren iland för gott. Vid sidan av etablering och drift av grossistföretaget Holiday Music AB och Antikvariat Trumpeten, har författaren på eget förlaget utgivit diktsamlingen Himmelriksblues & Midvinterljus (2009) samt sjöromanen Högtörn (2012) och har också medarbetat i ett fl ertal antologier.
