il giallo, e basato sulla costruzione di due personaggi molto ben definiti: il principale, Ben, mai scomposto, tipica "mente brillante" in cui il confine tra charme e "aria di indifferenza" e molto sottile; l'altro, Silvio, un po' rozzo e delineato in questo senso e ritratto molto bene sia negli atteggiamenti grossolani, sia nella sua capacita di contribuire alle indagini in corso. Aspetto che emerge anche per merito del contrasto con il co-protagonista. Silvio suscita senz'altro molta simpatia ed e naturale, "vederlo" nei suoi movimenti goffi e prigionieri di una corporatura chenon si sarebbe potuta immaginare diversamente. L'altro protagonista lo fa l'ambientazione che viene sapientemente "sfruttata", con descrizioni particolareggiate ma non per questo noiose. Ben e Silvio sono alla ricerca di qualcosa di misterioso seguendo gli indizi che qualcuno dissemina attraverso la citta. Una caccia al tesoro che si intreccia con i misteri di casa Estense e l'intrigo di reliquie perdute.
