The Cappadocian Fathers had great impact on the church of the fourth century, having brought their passion for Christ and their theological expertise to life in their ministry. While Basil, Gregory of Nyssa, and Gregory of Nazianzus are well known, the women of their families were also highly influential. In The Cappadocian Mothers, Carla D. Sunberg uncovers the lives of seven women who may have had more effect on the theology of the church than previously believed. As the Cappadocians wrestle with the Christianization of the concept of deification, we find the women in their lives becoming models for their theological understanding. The lives of the women become points of intersection in the kenosis-theosis parabola. Not only are the Cappadocian Mothers brought to life in the texts, but they become models of an optimistic theology of restoration for all of humanity without constraint of gender.

What do people see when they look at us? Someone who reminds them of Jesus?Reflecting the Image is about moving closer to Christ so that we reflect his image brilliantly, as if in a mirror. It's about getting so immersed in our relationship with Jesus that when people see us, they see him. The closer we are to him, the greater is his reflection in us.Drawing on Scripture and personal experiences, Reflecting the Image is an inspiring call to the individual and the church as a whole to turn completely to God and allow his grace to restore us fully to Christ's image. Allow him to polish you so that when others see you, they see him instead.

Many have heard of the Cappadocian Fathers--that trio from the fourth century who shaped much of the way we think about our faith today. What some don't realize is that these men were surrounded by several devout women who had a profound influence on their lives and their theology. Dr. Carla Sunberg has uncovered the fragments of details that remain about seven revolutionary women, whom she calls the Cappadocian Mothers. In so doing, Sunberg introduces to us a group of saints who practiced some very Uncommon Virtues. You'll be challenged and inspired by the stories of these incredible and courageous women who model a new way of following Christ. If you are using Uncommon Virtues in a small group setting use these weekly videos with Dr. Carla Sunberg to help supplement your study and guide discussions. When we talk about color in the church, we are talking about so much more than race and ethnicity--yet at the same time we cannot leave race and ethnicity out of the conversation altogether. As a white woman and a black man, Carla Sunberg and Dany Gomis have coauthored a harmoniously blended collection of reflections comparing a bride adorned in luxurious colors for her groom to the bride of Christ. Explore what it would look like for the bride of Christ to discover and use a full array of hues, both biblically and culturally. More than a book about skin tone, Color challenges the church to rise above a monochromatic perspective to see the fresh beauty of interweaving threads to complete the church bride's adornment for her bridegroom. With a friendly, collaborative style and questions for reflection at the end of each chapter, Sunberg and Gomis encourage us to celebrate the vibrancy and intensity of the Christian life the way God designed us to live it--as filled with Color. Prayer is not simply another item for Christians to check off our daily to-do lists. If we are serious about the Christian life and about participating in God's mission in the world, then prayer will be an active and intentional part of our lives. In Teach Us to Pray, Carla Sunberg allows Scripture to be the guide, showing us where our ancestors and heroes in the faith--including Jesus himself but also Paul, the psalmists, and others--have already walked these paths and demonstrated for us how to achieve and enjoy a deep relationship with God through prayer. Each chapter closes with actionable steps and suggestions for Christians who want to practice what they've learned but don't know where to start.

Making Christlike disciples in the nations requires equipping people for the Christian life, the purpose of which is to become more and more like Christ. The invitation to live like Christ is a journey in which we continually turn from the ways of this world and fix our eyes on our Savior. As we do, we move ever closer toward Jesus with the aid and guidance of the Holy Spirit and accountability from our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. In The Christian Life, General Superintendent Carla Sunberg explores the paragraphs from the Nazarene Manual that discuss what living in a Christlike way might look like from the Nazarene perspective.

The Two Georges: Parallel Lives in an Age of Revolution is the first book to simultaneously explore in depth the lives and contributions of two globally significant figures of the late eighteenth century: George III (1738–1820), king of Great Britain, and George Washington (1732–1799), first president of the United States. Serving as the official companion publication to the Library of Congress exhibit, the book reexamines the life of George Washington and paints a fuller picture of King George III.In considering these men, The Two Georges contextualizes, compares, and contrasts their experiences in youth, as family men, as men of the Enlightenment, as adversaries in war, as king and president, and as figures of national myth and memory. Short essays from scholars open each chapter and examine the commonalities and differences between the two Georges as well as the forces and circumstances that informed their lives and leadership. Complementing these essays are features on specific areas of overlap and contrast, such as their military backgrounds, food preferences, and love of science, agriculture, and books; short biographies of their parents, wives, and extended families; and a variety of historic documents, maps, prints, and artwork in the Library of Congress's collections and from around the world. These supplemental pieces underscore the myriad changes the two Georges participated in and witnessed during an age of revolution.

Shattered Faith Unbroken Promises: Why I Choose to Believe God and Remain Apostolic
Throughout her many years of servitude on this Christian journey, Lady Watkins has experienced and witnessed many faith-shattering circumstances that have inspired the writing of this book. She desires to restore hope to others who may be thinking of "throwing in the towel" because they don't fully understand and grasp the concept of "Faith in Jesus" and the steadfastness and reliability of His Word in the face of adversity. Lady Watkins has a testimony that only God, through reliance on the power, strength, blood and the name of His Son Jesus, is the true source of love, comfort, strength, and endurance during these trying times. Lady Watkins has learned and can witness that when all else fails, God's promises to us are unbroken, but we have to know in whom we must trust, what promises are available to us and how to obtain them. It is her prayer and desire that we as the people of God re-cultivate and bring back to memory and existence the "Faith" which was once delivered unto the saints. (Jude 3 KJV).
