"Set in a Kentucky river town, here is a tale that is part murder mystery, part existential allegory of wonderfully imagined characters. Mauriello has a gift for drawing us into their struggles toward epiphanies that may save or devour them. This fictional universe connects us to the aesthetic realms of Updike, Cheever and O'Connor. Mauriello has created a distinct milieu, both American and universal, in which everyday citizens find themselves edging along a psychic, social, and spiritual abyss which they can barely see. Under the Seal convinces us that the terrifying drop-off is within us all, an inevitable construct built into our terribly human nature." George Eklund, Emeritus Professor, Morehead State University

2017 Nautilus Book Awards: Silver Award Winner2018 Great Northwest Book Festival: Winner 2018 Hollywood Book Festival: WinnerEntrepreneurship at the Bottom of the Pyramid seeks to demonstrate to students the range of entrepreneurial activities that can be implemented in developing countries to alleviate poverty. The book blends theory, visual examples and practical learning activities to help students apply their knowledge and encourage thinking ‘outside the box’. It begins by introducing the reader to two fundamental concepts - poverty and the bottom of the pyramid - so they have a solid grasp of the context in which the entrepreneurial activities are implemented. Next, the authors discuss the entrepreneurial process, highlighting the most relevant elements: risk, survival and growth, entrepreneurial actors, the informal sector and micro-credit. Finally, the book describes models to encourage entrepreneurial activities in developing countries.Weaving a primary case study throughout so the reader can apply new knowledge incrementally while moving through the chapters, Dalglish and Tonelli also include several shorter case studies, presenting different problems and implemented solutions in several geographical areas. Students with an interest in entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation and development studies will find this an important read.

History of a Resistance is an important contribution to understanding the choice made by Italian soldiers after the armistice. In fact, during the Second World War, among the millions of soldiers taken prisoner by the Germans, only the Italians captured after 8th September 1943 were offered the chance to be freed in exchange for joining the Third Reich and the newly formed Italian Social Republic. This proposal was rejected by the vast majority, who preferred to face the harsh conditions of the German Lagers, even at the risk of their lives, so as not to contribute actively to the Nazi-Fascist war effort. The tragic story of the IMIs (Internati Militari Italiani - Italian Military Internees) is in its own right a chapter, so far too little known, in the history of the Resistance. -------------------------------Marcello De Caro was born in Rome, where he graduated with honours in Literature with a historical focus at La Sapienza University, specialising in the history of the Italian Military Internees. After a long experience as a teacher abroad, he moved to Emilia-Romagna, where he continues his teaching, research and study activities.

Sometimes it's pretty hard to believe that Happy Ever After even exists. Can Carol let go of the past and move on to the future with a handsome chef whose intentions are an open book? It's also pretty clear to everyone that Carol has some issues she needs to overcome before she can take the first step to Midlife happiness.A Maltese puppy and good friends who conspire with the chef just might make everything possible. But then again, whoever said life will go smoothly and just the way you want it to was wrong.
