This is a book of stories in which the narrator Robert Bronson a head custodian for The Clearview school district, introduces himself and his world in an intimate, friendly way. One by one, you will experience the emotional range of the people that he has met within the walls of the schools in which he's worked for decades "like a fly on the wall." Bronson tells their stories of shyness, teasing, drug dealing, suicide, bullying and murder. As we move into these different stories, the point of view changes to that of the character instead of Bronson's point of view. The cast of characters and the range of stories that he relates to is wide and interesting. Threaded throughout are lessons and wisdom for readers of all ages. The book is interwoven with parts funny and sad, and with an engaging variety of voices and styles. Robert Bronson holds such a unique position in his world and is privy to so much that he can then offer the reader the opportunity to see beyond closed doors, and a chance to witness the moments that changed the lives of these unique characters forever.Clearview is the front page news story that no one was allowed to tell. The words in the tear covered diaries of your classmates. It is the confession of a bully, Confidence found, friends made and dreams lost. Listen to Mr. Robert Bronson of The Clearview School District to get to know the world of your Author Cassius Ali.

This volume provides a new translation of Books 57 and 58 of Cassius Dio's Roman History and the 'fragments' of these books preserved in later Byzantine epitomes, as well as the first English language commentary to examine them in their entirety. Dio's Roman History covers almost 1,000 years from the founding of Rome up to the early third century AD, with Books 57 and 58 focusing on the reign of the emperor Tiberius (AD 14-37): his account of this period is one of the most important to have survived from antiquity, not least as it preserves a historiographical tradition in some ways distinct from that of Tacitus and Suetonius. These books also reveal something of his authorial preoccupations and present a glimpse into the mind of the historian, and especially into his understanding of the mechanics of imperial government. The focus of the commentary is both historical and historiographical, in so far as it aims to illuminate not only issues arising from Dio's account of the Tiberian principate, but also to reveal the unity of his work and literary programme: a series of appendices complement the analysis by providing discussion of some of the key historical problems surrounding Dio and the reign of Tiberius. The translation (the first since the Loeb Classical Library edition of E. Cary) aims for both clarity and accuracy, and particular care has been taken to separate the various textual traditions that have been used to reconstruct the lost portions of Dio's text. An accompanying general introduction offers an accessible overview of Cassius Dio's approach to history based on the latest research in the field, and will be of particular use to graduate and undergraduate students coming to the text for the first time.

Dio Cassius, too often consulted just as a historical source, was an historian of considerable interest and originality – at once a Greek man of letters and a late representative of the Roman tradition of senatorial historical writing. For the reign of Augustus his history is the fullest account to survive. This edition covers the years 28 to 5 BC, after which there are substantial gaps in Dio’s text; it includes Dio’s extended discussion of the constitutional settlement of 27 BC and the imperial system it inaugurated. The notes discuss the historical subject matter and Dio’s treatment of it; particular attention is paid to the way Dio shaped his material in the light of his own values and interests. The introduction deals with Dio’s life, the character of his history, and his view of Augustus. Ancient Greek text with facing-page English translation, introduction and commentary.
