Elijah the Tishbite was a mightily, anointed prophet of God that transformed every life he touched. The key to this phenomenal ministry was relationship. Elijah had learned that an intimate relationship with God led to power with man. Through a careful study of his life and ministry, we can learn these same spiritual principles that will cause us to transform lives and move in the supernatural power of God for our generation. Catherine E. Lawrence left a successful career in investments to pursue a full time ministry. Since that time she has spent the last 27 years in pastoral ministry and as a conference speaker ministering in the offices of prophetess and teacher.

Lawrence is one of the council assassins, perhaps the one who ended up with the worst ability-he's a snake shifter, and he secretes his venom even in his human form. He's never been able to eliminate it entirely from his saliva and bloodstream, and that means he's made sure to stay away from sex and hookups as much as possible-until now. When he's sent to kidnap the son of Gavin White, the man experimenting on shifters, he discovers Griffith is his mate.Griffith is a geneticist. He works for a shifter-owned company that tries to help the shifters and humans who were experimented on by the Glass Research Company. When he's kidnapped by a cute blond who tells him his father is doing the opposite-experimenting on shifters to turn them into war machines-he's horrified, and he wants to help.Lawrence has no idea what to do with the knowledge that Griffith is his mate. They can't bond, not with the venom in Lawrence's saliva, so he decides not to tell Griffith about it. He hasn't counted on Griffith's stubbornness, though, and when he has to rush to help his mate, he knows he won't be able to stay away, even though it would be the right thing to do.

Historic photographs tell the story of the illustrious New London Police Department from 1868 to today.New London, Connecticut, established its first permanent police force in 1868 when a nightwatch and police station were approved by city council. In the late 1800s and into the early 1900s, the busy port of New London doubled in population, reaching almost 20,000 by 1910 with just 17 patrolmen keeping order. In January 1924, the council approved the hiring of a woman as a police officer. In the early 1960s, a police union was formed by members of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association to provide better working conditions. By the early 1990s, the department had moved into its current building and updated its computer-aided dispatch, added mobile computers in police cars, digitized its maps, and created a new records management system. The current department chief's office overlooks a bus and train depot, a busy deepwater port, and a city that draws thousands of people every summer.

An oral history of the West Virginia Mine Wars published to coincide with the centennial of the Battle of Blair Mountain. In 1972 Anne Lawrence came to West Virginia at the invitation of the Miners for Democracy movement to conduct interviews with participants in, and observers of, the Battle of Blair Mountain and other Appalachian mine wars of the 1920s and '30s. The set of oral histories she collected-the only document of its kind-circulated for many years as an informal typescript volume, acquiring an almost legendary status among those intrigued by the subject. Key selections from it appear here for the first time as a published book, supplemented with introductory material, maps, and photographs. The volume's vivid, conversational mode invites readers into miners' lived experiences and helps us understand why they took up arms to fight anti-union forces in some of the nation's largest labor uprisings.Published to coincide with the celebration of the Blair Mountain centennial in 2021, On Dark and Bloody Ground includes a preface by public historian Catherine Venable Moore and an afterword by Cecil E. Roberts of the United Mine Workers of America.
