Una storia di partenze e di attese. I protagonisti sono quelli che rimangono, quelli che attendono, ed ingannano il tempo nell'attesa di un ritorno. Sullo sfondo, una Milano metropolitana.
Venice enchants the eye from first light to last gloaming. We have captured some of the splendid palette of the city with this Paperblanks journal cover inspired by a 1600s Italian binding. Our Celeste design embraces the Renaissance value of cultural rebirth by representing an ancient book binding with contemporary bookmaking techniques.
Dr. Luscious Campbell a sought-after History professor and the author of recent published works that many are appalled by. His tales of voodoo, according to claim, are not a legend but very real, and still practiced in the Deep South, known for swamps, bayous and crazy people. It's his first day teaching. The controversial course attracts attention from students. Shocking as his story may be or the subject matter he has chosen to teach, it's not the core of the book's story. It becomes overwhelmingly clear that Luscious had been placed in the unbelieving situation. Luscious had no idea what would happen when he visited that beautiful plantation or the horror he would soon be introduced to. Why him and why now? Centuries since that fateful night, he will soon discover how his experiences will change not only him but the long term gossip, in the quaint, small, Houma town.

I was born into the family of William Julius and Emilie (Baudat) Gayle on August 30, 1919 They decided to name me Luella Celestine for my two grandmothers...Luella Love (Sanders) Gayle and Celestine (Pichon) Baudat. I did not like the name and was very happy that they decided to call me "Celeste." At the time of my birth, my brother Milton was almost two, having been born September 2, 1917. Unfortunately, he died with Diphtheria on December 11, 1921, when I was only two. Mom and Dad had previously lost a son, Dalton, who died April 13, 1915 at the age of 16 months. He was born December 8, 1913. I was born in my parents' home on Melton Street in Magnolia, Texas. The house was demolished in 1988. Ty (grandson) came over and told me about it and he thought it was terrible that they were tearing down a landmark where his grandmother was born. Mom was very proud of her little home as evidenced by notes she had written on the back of pictures she had taken to send to her friends and relatives. My Dad was depot agent and telegrapher for the Missouri Pacific Railroad at the time of my birth, and retired in that position. He was truly a "railroad man" and couldn't stay in the house when he heard a train whistle.

In London, the moment two commuters, Aaron and Lilly, lay eyes on each another on a packed Monday morning tube train, everyone else around them vanishes. In Los Angeles, Ray is sitting in gridlock on the 405 Freeway when he receives a call from an LAPD officer with news about his wife. Ray fears the worst. But just as the officer is about to give Ray the news, he is cut off. The caller has disappeared, and so has everyone else around him. Everyone except for a badly beaten man tied up in the trunk of another car. In Japan, comic artist Yoshi has come to the demon-haunted Aokigahara Forest to die, but the spirits of the forest have other ideas. Taking us through the deserted streets of London, the empty freeways of Los Angeles, and the dream world of the Aokigahara Forest, Celeste is a compelling and profound graphic novel about the choices we make and the courage it takes to make them.
