My Walks with Remi is a book of devotions illustrated with stunning color images of nature taken during Cindy's walks in California with her handsome and spirited Portuguese Water Dog, Remi. As Cindy's first dog, Remi has taught her a lot, but walking in nature with Remi helped her be more aware of God's presence. The majesty of the mountains, the sparkling blue Pacific Ocean, and the vibrant colors of the flowers that were in perpetual bloom opened her eyes to the inspiration God brought her as he seemed to whisper in her ear, "Look at that " In My Walks with Remi, Cindy shares the life lessons she felt God taught her through photos, reflections, and prayer, as they relate to the images she observed. With Scripture that spans both the Old and New Testaments, the devotions are a witness to how God still speaks to us today. They will uplift and encourage you as you are awakened to God's presence in the beauty of nature in your life. My Walks with Remi will delight your eyes and nourish your soul.

Being the sixth novel in the Pseudoverse series, I wanted to at least read the first novel. I am a chronically ill person, so reading is not something that happens every day, nor does writing...consequently, why my FB has gone dead. C'est la vie. I was able to get Cobalt and Crimson under my belt but sorely wish now that I could have read them all first since Onyx was slightly revealed in Chrome, and is my favorite novel for many reasons. - The ascension scene at the end of Onyx will never leave your mind or heart. I cheered and cried. These novels are entirely unique." Kate D. Amazon reviewLook to the darkened skies above as the moon moves closer to the sun. Five years ago I was released from a Mistress/female slave relationship that lasted almost three years. I was trained well during that time and my release from servitude was not due to my own misconduct or inability as a slave. Still suddenly I found myself alone. I was an experienced masochist. I have been submissive since I was little and it's something I no longer fight. From a young age, I always followed the rules and let other people lead. I searched for a while for the perfect older woman who would accept me as her slave. I wanted to live with her and for her to be in control of me as she is of her other property. I love older women, especially mommy dommes and disciplinarians. I wanted to be a slave to a sadistic Mistress for the rest of my life. I wanted to belong to a woman I could worship. I was ready to once again devote myself to being a Mistress' full time slave. Happily I found her and eagerly I became the domestic and sex slave she required. However she is a very strict Mistress and punishment is doled out liberally in her house. Typically in the morning I wake up and fix Mistress breakfast. She may call me into the bedroom to pleasure her if she is in the mood, particularly if it's the weekend. I may need to help her dress but usually while she is in her underwear or slip, she'll gives me a good over the knee spanking before she goes to work. She says it helps get her blood pumping and be more ready for the day. Those morning spankings can really wake me up fast. It's usually always with a paddle or strap. Mistress doesn't usually spank me with her hand anymore, she used to several years ago. As Mistress is paddling me in the morning, she will tell me what she wants me to do that day, assuming there is something she has on her mind. I have to admit that today was different as Mistress started the day very angry with me. I was supposed to get more of her shampoo and lip stick when I went shopping yesterday but forgot. She found out as she was taking a shower. As she was drying off she called me in, ordered me to crawl from the bedroom door to the foot of the bed and was lecturing me about being forgetful. She hates it when I'm forgetful; frankly it's something I have a problem with. I knew I was in a lot of trouble. I could see she was winding up to really spank me hard. I apologized of course but that rarely does any good. She ordered me to set the chair up in the middle of the bedroom and get the large black wooden paddle. She ordered me to bend over the back of the chair so my hands were on the chair seat and my butt was the highest thing on me. This book is a collection of intimate and sometimes shocking conversations about success. Each story will inspire, enlighten, and entertain you. In Success, not only did I seek to discover what motivates high achievers, but I also dug for the philosophies that lead to success. During these interviews, I asked uncomfortable questions that led to answers that often surprised even the athletes being interviewed, because it is the subconscious mind that drives most ambitious people to achieve. Each athlete came from a diverse background, but there were common themes that every reader can embrace and model in their own lives. A key takeaway was how each fighter defined success-often their answers contradicted societal norms.Jiu-Jitsu has often been used as a metaphor for life, but in these stories, you can replace Jiu-Jitsu with any ambitious pursuit-the lessons are universal.Get ready for an intense journey.
Unlike antidepressants, which treat the symptoms, rather than the root causes of depression, interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) alleviates depression -- quickly and long-term -- by improving relationships. The authors have used IPT for more than twenty years and achieved dramatic, lasting results in eight to twelve weeks. Frustrated by the lack of a good book on the subject they could recommend to their clients, they created this accessible, first-of-its kind guide. Sharing their successful 12-week program, each week / chapter introduces a new topic and teaches skills and tools that allow readers to set and achieve goals, articulate feelings, and make constructive decisions. Paramount is identifying and engaging with allies and supporters, dealing with difficult people, and, if need be, walking away from harmful relationships. The authors have taught clients -- diagnosed with depression or not -- to use these skills in virtually every life situation from preventing divorce to "consciously uncoupling," raising healthy children, coping with loss, and dealing with addiction. Writing with wisdom, warmth, and even humor, they are savvy coaches and inspiring cheerleaders who can offer a lifeline to the depressed and life-enrichment to anyone.

Lead Poisoning discusses one of the most critical and preventable environmentally induced illnesses. The actual toll lead poisoning takes on society cannot be measured fully due to the "silent" nature of health effects, such as subtle intellectual deficits and neurological damage, caused by chronic low-level exposures. This book covers every major topic on the subject, including lead poisoning in children, sources of contamination, state-of-the-art sampling and analytical measurement methods, the newest studies on low-cost abatement methods, and much more. This reference is the most comprehensive presentation of issues currently available under one cover. The text is divided into three major parts. Part I provides insights from studies assessing lead exposures from paint, dust, soil, and lead battery recycling operations. The second part is a unique collection of strategic federal policy statements from the U.S. EPA, HUD, and HEW-CDC. It details the National Implementation Plan as well as a local government's efforts to provide low-cost effective risk communication and public outreach to the community. The next part offers seven chapters on analytical issues in the measurement of lead in blood, paint, dust, and soils. Part IV, Sampling Methods and Statistical Issues, rounds out the technical portion of the volume. The relationships among lead levels in biological and environmental media are investigated and the interpretive problems discussed. The use of multi-element analysis of environmental samples as an approach to investigate sources is described. The book finishes with its most unique feature-OPPT's Check Our Kids for Lead Program, one organization's effort to empower its employees to make a personal difference in confronting the problem of lead poisoning in children. The Program serves as a model for other government organizations (federal, state, and local), university and community organizations, and corporations to educate them and take personal and corporate responsibility for addressing this important and environmental health problem.
