Fifty years ago he was just the boy Harry Webb, performing in a local youth club. Now he is Sir Cliff Richard, the first rock star to be knighted, with a massive international fan base and a top ten hit in each of the last six decades. Yet, despite his huge public persona, the man himself remains a reserved and private figure.Unflinching in its portrayal of the man behind the musical icon, this revealing biography marks fifty years of music from the first British pop star. His fellow musicians, co-stars, directors and Cliff himself talk candidly about his musical ascendance, the women in his life, his religious beliefs and his lasting regret that he has never broken America.

Cliffs are present in virtually every country on earth. The lack of scientific interest in cliffs to date is in striking contrast to the commonness of cliffs around the world and to the attraction cliffs have had for humans throughout history. Cliffs provide a unique habitat, rarely investigated from an ecological viewpoint. This book aims to destroy the impression of cliffs as geological structures devoid of life, by reviewing information about the geology, geomorphology, microclimate, flora and fauna of both sea and inland cliffs. For the first time, evidence is presented to suggest that cliffs worldwide may represent an invaluable type of ecosystem, consisting of some of the least disturbed habitats on earth and contributing more to the biodiversity of a region than their surface coverage would indicate.
(Soft-Cover Print) A book of selected poems and stories by me, Cliff Rhodes. This is the second edition of my poems and is now finished. This book contains all of the 2007 poems, a few stories, and the writings of 2008. I designed my own cover. It is a copy of a water color painting of one of the aloe vera plants that grow plentifully in my house. I hope you enjoy reading my poems as much as I have enjoyed writing them. Love heals and makes all things new.
An updated edition of the outstanding bestseller coinciding with Cliff's celebration of 50 years in show business in 2008.

In 1959 teenage poet Royston Ellis teamed up with Cliff Richard's group, the Drifters (later called The Shadows) and appeared with them on television and stage shows performing his unique brand of 'rocketry' (rock 'n' roll poetry). He became closely associated with Cliff, Jet, Tony, Hank & Bruce and wrote the first ever book about them, Driftin' With Cliff Richard followed by the 1961 biography The Shadows. These much sought-after books have been long out of print. Royston Ellis has agreed to combine and expand the content of these two books into a new book, Cliff Richard and The Shadows - A Rock & Roll Memoir. This new book recalls insights of days and nights spent with Cliff and the Shadows between 1959 and 1961. Largely regarded as THE spokesman for the British Rock & Roll generation, Royston Ellis now re-evaluates how Cliff and The Shadows represented the hopes, aspirations and values of British teens at the dawn of the swinging 60s, when things would change forever. Cliff Richard and The Shadows - A Rock & Roll Memoir is a timeless snapshot of an era that only lasted a few years, but whose importance would reverberate for decades. This beautifully designed book includes rare photos.
