Stop the Medicine!: A Medical Doctor's Miraculous Recovery with Natural Healing

Stop the Medicine tells the true story of how a medical doctor, dying from an incurable disease in the midst of her medical training in the late 1990's, fought desperately for her life by following natural and alternative healing methods. In the process of healing, she would take on an entirely different view of the meaning of symptoms and disease, and would end up leaving conventional medicine completely to help heal her patients naturally.Stop The Medicine is a passionate, frank, humorous, informative, shocking, and unparalleled look at the medical establishment from an insider's view. This extraordinary book opens hospitals doors that had previously been marked, "Hospital Personnel Only " Cynthia Foster, MD began her formal medical studies with the aspiration of becoming a radiologist. Tragically, her entrance into medical school was soon followed by the emergence of severe epileptic seizures. The grand mal seizures became so extreme that they were dislocating her joints. In addition, a genetic susceptibility to thyroid disease began to cause problems that caused serious heart problems & extreme weakness. Medical doctors were unable to accurately diagnose her condition. Meanwhile, her disease had reduced her to crawling and she was forced to continue her studies on the floor of her apartment. All conventional treatment options failed. She realized that to overcome this life-threatening disease, she would have to throw out her medical teachings, and journey into the unknown. She "stumbled" across an alternative medicine clinic where thousands before her had found cures for their diseases. In the waiting room, she spoke with fellow patients in various stages of healing, and found that patients with such diseases as cancer, lupus, heart disease, and other serious diseases were reversing them naturally. She witnessed the miracles possible with herbs - people surviving who had been told they were going to die, organs regenerating, and tumors dropping off never to come back again. There, on a weekly basis, she followed recommendations from a holistic-oriented nurse. Despite the miracles, she did not want to give up her conventional medical training, and impatiently wished the process of healing would speed up so that she could get on to practicing "real medicine." She then entered into the clinical years of her medical training. Immediately, she noted the sharp contrast offered by the sterile conventional medical community: chronic suffering that led to more physical pain, disability, and emotional trauma. She saw the abuses in the system - inaccurate lab tests, too little time spent with patients, and the use of too many medications with the disasters that followed. Stop the Medicine Second Edition contains a section describing the exact cleanses that Dr. Foster used to regain her health with information on how to obtain them.

WYLIE'S WERKST TTE: THE NEW COMFORT ZONE Would you like to wait here in the sitting room or sit here in the waiting room? - Firesign Theatre We spend a considerable chunk of our existence(s) sitting and waiting, waiting for doctors, lawyers, clients, (potential) employers, jury foremen, auto repairmen, planes, trains, restaurant seats, ad infinitum. Why do we dread such down time? Because everything about the spaces in which we wait reinforces our sense of suspension, our sense of lost time, our sense that, no matter what work or reading we manage to accomplish in these interstices, we are doing nothing but aging. We sit in waiting rooms. Cynthia Wylie would have us wait in sitting rooms. She re-Imagines the transitional space as a welcoming locus, a warm and lively-looking environment whose smart and charming details are boldly described and, ultimately, reassuring, reintroducing natural forces otherwise conspicuous by their absence. It doesn't matter whether these handsome prints and delicate images define a public or a private room; they enliven the domestic setting no less than the common. Wylie's approach to design - her dedication to an integrated approach to interior elaboration no less than her complex but highly ordered and carefully stylized "language of form" - harks back to concepts and styles we regard as from a much different time and place. But, if we know that the decorous yet sensuous approaches of Art Nouveau, the Craftsman style, and the Wiener Werkstst tte - not to mention their progeny, including Art Deco and the Bauhaus - are the day-before-yesterday's avant garde, we find that the spirit, and even the manner(s), they unleashed upon a thirsty world a century ago not only remain fresh, but quench the same thirst now. Everything old is new again - and not a moment too soon. Call it win-win Werkst tte. Cynthia Wylie has rescued and renewed the transitional space, allowing us precisely the happy transit we need.
